I worked for the state for 2 1/2 yrs. in an institution for convicted felons. Sometimes a person reads what is happening in the news paper or hears what is happening on the news, shakes their heads and doesn't give it any thought. Then when you actually experience it, the effects truly become reality and your perspective changes 100%; you know they are true but hard to believe until you actually see it. I became very, very sensitive with other peoples feelings and not just mine or my families. I would never intentionaly go into another person's space unless forced to prior to this, I wouldn't bother people. I finaly opened my eyes and said to myself, "What can I do to help make a difference." People can't change other people they can only change themself. You can help guide them but you can't make them; "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink." I saw certain people actually try to physically beat some sense into inmates but this only made the person worse with anger and hostility; instead of showing them by actions what normal is. Most inmates come from very abusive environments and think this is the norm, it isn't; it was only for the inmate. The certain inmate and other types come to believe that compassion is a weakness, it's not it's a strength; sometimes people take things for granted. If society wonders why there is so much repeat offenders, all they need to do is work in this type of environment for 6-8 mths. and keep their eye's and mind wide open, they will soon have their answers.
I am surprised you lasted that long. How much of that time was on sick leave or worker's comp, with an injury no one witnessed? The prison system is much better off without you. The wine and spirits shops are open late tonight.

How do you know that?

She also got $100,000 in accumulated retirement contributions which she could either withdraw or roll-over into another retirement account.
But the real thief is former state judge and federal felon-in-waiting Mike Joyce, who's also collecting his state pension which awaiting his corruption trial. Why is there no outcry about this travesty of justice?

Most definitely!!! What really astonishes me is when someone reads a news clip or a website and then says, "This is a smear campaign" when the facts show and read otherwise. I guess I have become one who sits on top of the fence so I can have a cleare view of both sides before acting; sometimes it's hard. Your placed in a position to act for your own survival, do the least amount of damage as possible (just enough to detain) and then sort it out. Some of these bozo's go to far with it, they begin to like the feeling of power it gives them. Going back though with a little more beef (people beef); I have met a few interesting friends in the right places for support.

Hey Smucatelly, in case you're having trouble with this, I'm not really Chesty Puller and you are not Smedley Butler. I know you, and quite frankly a few of us are surprised that you ever made it out of boot camp, did the Senior D.I. ever get you to overcome your bed wetting problem? Yeah folks, some big hero. You want to borrow one of my CAR's? I'll let you touch it.. Uh-Oh! Better grab a fresh depends.

You sound like someone who speaks from experience; with reference to trumped up injuries. This thought never entered my mind when I read After Thoughts message. You must have fooled them all. Did you?....never mind that's none of my business. Good luck with life youre going to need it.

It never entered your mind because you are clueless. When you experience a little more in life, you will interpret that person's ramblings correctly. I will match my highly successful career with your job any day.

You sound like someone who knows about ARD from experience. Now, see how stupid a comment like that is? I'm not one of your lowlife buddies who hops from bar to bar. By the way, successful is not one of those words that can be spelled two different ways.

No, I have never and would never go there, this has always been against my beliefs. I'm saying I have become friends with people that want to make a difference, ssimilar perspective as mine; this took some time though to find and I'm very comfortable these people (trust and faith). You know, not to be a part of the problem but only helping to be part of the solution; to much violance. We won't back away from a fight, but we do try to pick the fight we want to fight; you understand. I know I was confusing at first, but I find myself lately starting from the beginning of my experiences and working backwords. I have found certain people that have become very judgemental, for whatever reason, most people become more receptive to listening then. Some think I'm a little goofy, who nows maybe I'm, but I have learned to place the perishable things in life before the materialistic things in life, I feel better about myself because of this. Certain people's perspective may be just the opposite. At one time I had a tendency and compromised my beliefs, sometimes I just don't respond to what I believe is negative; basicly I just pick my fights anymore. Does this mean do I think my perspective on life is better, no, it's just that the person that I'm speaking to might have a different perspecive; it's up to each of us to decide. We all reach a certain point in our journey through life when we take a stand, right or wrong in the other persons mind that's all. I just learned to believe we all need to communicate more and listen and focus on what the other person may be trying to say; less violence. Like I believe you and I are doing right now; it's much simpilar.

Like so many other gov. jobs, they put it to us again. How many of us would of been fired or let go without pay and lose all benefits if we did somethind illegal or didn't do our job for which we were being paid for. If I just didn't show up for work I would be done. Remember Bud Dryer. He was hours away from being charged so he shot himself. By doing that you can't charge a dead man and his family who benefited from his actions stayed on easy street.

I say good luck in life and the first thing out of your mouth is you would match your highly successful job with mine anyday; that means you place money ahead of religious and family values. You say I'm clueless, you judge someone you don't even know (their integrity) and my spelling error; my comment seems to have stuck a nerve. Sounds like you have had to many Captain and diet drinks. You seem to have a very high opinion of yourself to consider other's lowlife. Maybe you should start looking more at yourself and stop thinking with a cynical mind; your going to hurt some innocent and unsuspecting person someday if you haven't already. Like I said before, "good luck in life", your going to need it.

Ya know you people are very rude! Maybe you should take a second look at what your reading!! Your actually the moron!!! You should grow up and stop judging other people the only person you should judge is yourself and no one else. Trust me you will need all the luck you can possibly get in life. God will throw some very hard times your way and if you don't work them with an open mind you will never learn from them and thus you will burn in hell for all eternity. So may you judge only yourself and endure hard ships with an open heart and open mind! May GOD bless you!!!
