I can't believe so many people are foolish enough to waste their vote on Brown and Whitman when there is a great candidate like Nightingale willing to take the job.

he talks about his days as governor but that was a different economy... this time around we need a powerfully focused business approach... its ridiculous to compare meg to arnold as he's an actor and she is a legitimate business oriented person. The 'whore' comment that he supports but is sorry he was outed, disqualifies him from... being the mature person we need to face absolutely difficult times. His focus on 3% of the workforce... at a time when there is no time to play games... as so many folks are absolutely down and out, again show immaturity in an old guy. Old age does not necessarily bring wisdom. His father was wise... but not Jerry. He and Boxer are talking about straw issues to distract attention from their fundamentally flawed agenda.

Communism and Jerry Brown
Prosperity and Meg Whitman.

It is an easy choice for families who don't lust for more and more and more of other peoples hard earned money like the pub emp unions and the welfare crowd.

I stand on my own two feet. I'll Vote for Meg Whitman.

Jerry does not have new ideas. The problems CA has are due to Democratic, liberal ideas.

You can't beleive WHY????...because she can't fricken win and YOU are throwing your vote away. A vote for her is a vote for Brown. If you favor Chelene you obviously lean Conservative - so why the hell would you want to support Brown and is socialst liberal agenda? THINK ABOUT IT! Perhaps in another 4 years Chelene will have the backing to win - but not now. Your vote for her is worthless. WAKE UP all you Chelene voters....

Firm urged hedge against state bonds it helped sell
November 11, 2008 From the L.A. Times
Goldman, Sachs & Co. urged some of its big clients to place investment bets against California bonds this year despite having collected millions of dollars in fees to help the state sell some of those same bonds.

The giant investment firm did not inform the office of California Treasurer Bill Lockyer that it was proposing a way for investment clients to profit from California's deepening financial misery.

In Sacramento, officials said they were concerned that Goldman's strategy could raise the interest rate the state would have to pay to borrow money, thus harming taxpayers.

"It could exaggerate people's worries about our credit," said Paul Rosenstiel, head of the public finance division of the treasurer's office.
Such worries would tend to drive down the price of California bonds. That, in turn, would drive up the interest rate the state and its municipalities pay to borrow money. An increase of a single percentage point on a $1-billion bond issue would cost taxpayers an additional $10 million a year in interest.

That's especially troublesome at a time of severe budget turmoil and tight credit. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has warned that the state could run out of cash as early as February.

Some experts said the investment bank's actions, while not illegal, might be inappropriate. "That's not a good way to do business," said Geoffrey M. Heal, professor of public policy and business responsibility at Columbia University.

"They've got a conflict of interest and they're acting against the interest of their customers.... You act in the interests of your clients. You don't screw them, to put it bluntly."
