I'm sure the mammy will be on television claiming that this animal was 'retarded' or 'disabled.' Lunging at police with a knife is never a good idea! Look for whining from the naacp and a frivolous lawsuit soon! Hopefullt no officer will lose any pay over this minor incident!

Previous slave owners should not be allowed to comment. I hope the police get what they deserve.
They need to lose their jobs!!! This is ridiculous, they police are suppose to serve and protect. Not kill children!!

Seriously we are talking about a kid with a butter knife. Proves the point that Alot of those tough hard officers of the law are not as tough without the gun!!!! And the insensitivity of the Puppet I mean POLICE CHIEF should not go unnoticed. This is a prime example of the system that we should be trusting with our future failing another youth in OUR Community!!! Voting is the only way to ensure change.

I feel for the loss of the family but if they are so angry with how the police protected themselves and handled the situation, WHY were the authorities called in the first place? You clearly should be able to have some sort of control and know how to handle your child's disorder. I'm sorry for their loss but if it would have been my husband who was getting assaulted by a child, would expect him to do what he had to do to get home to his family. Maybe all should remember that the percentage of these officer's put their lives in danger for less than 40,000 a year. I'm tired of hearing the child posed no threat!!!! Why the hell were the police called then?

Then why did the parents call the police for a butter knife?

Does anyone honestly believes a trained police officer is justified using deadly force against a child with a developmental disorder holding a butter knife? This is absolutely outrageous. Those officers will be held accountable and should never be put in a position of authority again.

If police officer training does not include "how to handle a mentally challenged teenager" then there is clearly something wrong with officer training. Officer's are supposed to serve and protect. And this is what they resort to? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE OUT OF YOUR MIND IF YOU THINK THIS IS JUSTIFIABLE. God help us.

They called for help! And they ended up with a dead child. These officer's knew EXACTLY where they were going and who they were dealing with. No justification for this EVER.

If a police officer can not handle a disabled child with a butter knife without using deadly force then they should find another line of work.

They were serving and protecting.......the parents who called the police the father who called the police they were protecting!

Don't forget the police don't come for no apparent reason and they were called to the home to protect what is wrong with you people? Why the hell would anyone call the police then you make no sense what so ever! Stop making this about the officers look at the real issue! The child and family needed intervention long before this!

God help us is right! All of you should be praying for help for families and children! For parents to get the attention they need for children in special situations just like this! For children to get the help they need in situations like this. Don't just throw comments out there. Think before you speak it's easy to cast stones...... Walk the walk don't just talk the talk!

EXACTLY! THINK before you write. Police are there to serve and protect. And you think they are there to serve and protect themselves instead of a child. These parents called them for help and ended up with a dead child and you want to justify this somehow. Ridiculous.

the use of deadly force in a situation like this is completely unnecessary, RIP child
