Police use that comment all the time "they were in fear for there life" they think it will get them off on everything.. they jump to fast with their guns.. they could have tezzed him, or if they were smart enough and taught well enough got the knife away.. but no insead the big bad cop has to use his gun. not to maime the kid but to kill.. Sorry they need to go down for this.........

Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.. and the last time i checked a knife is still a deadly weapon. Oh and by the way it is spelled "tazed" genious.

This is a very sad story, and I agree that the police should have tazed him. I do wonder why he wasn't in a home that could manage him though. His mother should have known that he was violent, and should have put him in a safe home.

In my eyes the police did exactly what they should have done. The officer he was attacking didn't have a taser gun. Therefore he was shot with an actual gun! First of all how about parents control their own kids and not call the police for this type of BS. Second everybody knows you don't go after a police officer. Cops want to go home to their families, he deserved what he got! Truth hurts folks!

The cops got tired of going to calls for that boy so they murdered a 15 yr old with mental problems. All the bangers and thugs out there should be shot since they like to shoot first. A butter knife wow what's next get shot for a stick in your hand. Unnessary force in my opinion

So sad however the parents should have gotten him some type of medication since he was such an aggressive individual. Autistic or not, parents must find ways of controlling their children. But unfortunate that police had to shoot him to resolve this issue, he was backed into a corner too.

Where did you get the info that it was just a butter knife? So you're saying he cut the officer with a butter knife? That kid didn't have a butter knife...

taser's dont work well in close quarter combat. The chief of Cal City stated the offender stabbed the officer near the stairs so taser was not an option anyways. The best use of the taser is applied at a distance of 7 to 10 feet to get a solid hit.

Having Autism is not an excuse! I know exactly what Autism is! I also know that every cop wants to go home to their families. Having a mental disability does not give anyone free reign to do what ever they want. Stop making excuses, he got what was coming to him for attacking the cops!

Stab a police officer you die! It's as simple as that. The police did not have time to do a psych evaluation. It's time people took responsibility for their actions retarded or not!

Why were they calling the police for this kid? They can't help a disturbed kid! Why wasnt he institutionalized? The parents failed him. And everyone knows what will happen if you pull a knife on a cop.

I hope someone has a gun to you and you need the cops and they go wait maybe I should taze him because he might be ILL but that second delay BOOM your gone oh no!!! it sucks a ILL kid died but the cops had to protect themselves to go home safe.

I don't think the police did anything wrong. They have to protect themselves. The child should have been in an institution. You're one sick individual though. To wish people death over their opinions... We all have our faults. Are you so perfect that you think others should die for not thinking like you? Won't be seeing you in heaven...

I am listening in disbelief! The police were at the home how many times? Too many! There should have been something done and this never would have happened! This child should have gotten the care he needed so stop blaming the police and put the blame where is belongs! Training....who is trained to specialize in care for these people what was done for this child? NOTHING! Again the police were called to the home how many times and you don't feel like that was rediculous? Police are not the cure all for all the problems in the world how about this if you are doing drugs stop if you are stealing stop if you are beating your wife stop if you are robbing stop what is wrong with you people to begin with? Who's responsibility is is to stop acting like a bunch of maniacs? Take some responsibility for yourselves for a change!!!! This boy went to how many doctors? Who was in charge of this situation? Why are you calling the police? Was the father in fear for his life? Why did he call the police? Where was the mother? Get the facts people straight! Jessie Jackson where were you when the boy needed medical attention and wasn't getting it prior to this situation? Blame game? The police have families too who's going to take care of them when the officer is dead because of this kind of behavior? Do you think about that? No! A knife is a knife and tazed are you kidding me? The officers should have tazed him? This young man was violent and needed help! How about this volunteer your time helping children like this or helping families like this. Nothing like walking in someone's shoes to get a REAL handle on this. Then you can comment . Or better yet go to some of these calls the police go on! Get a real feel for reality people! Your mouths might not be so quick to judge!!!!!!!

And don't dare comment on they are the police which way do you want it they come to help and then you are going to decide and criticize .....please usually police are called when Things and People are OUT OF CONTROL!!!!! Figure out which way you want it people!!!!! A little crazy I think! Stop!! Show some self control and if you need help get it and if the system fails make it better! Spend your time doing something about it not commenting about it. Because I do!
