These photos just show what a good time can be had and that you can't believe the lies or half truths that are told by "Mr. Observer" and "Stupid is"(na-sayers) and those that follow their line of thought. Thank you Colton First for honoring all the city of Colton employees that were laid off this year. Over two hundred strong tells you who is in the right and thanks to all the sponsors that contributed to making this a very special night, regardless of what you may hear from the na-sayers who are sounding more and more foolish everytime they post.

Only if he got paid, WHICH HE DIDN'T! Nope, and he donated hundreds of dollars (as did others) to help out the laid off employees! WAY TO GO!!!!

You people need to stop making fools of yourselves and really do something constructive like these guys. A lot better use of your energy!
Best way

By the next, holiday season of importance, comes around I hope you will see an even better turn-out because of more job losses coming. I hope the same group "Citizens For Colton First" can step up to the plate again and the other sponsors for another well appreciated gathering. Fun was had by all and helped raise the moral.

That is a pretty sick and twisted sentiment.Hoping that more people get laid off just so the man from Bloomington and his former Colton resident buddy get free advertising for their business's.

No where did I say I hoped that more people get laid off? Your's is a "pretty sick and twisted" statement, by turning around the intent of the comment. Why don't you re-read the posting. It indicated more lay-offs may be coming and they will need help and I hoped that Colton First would be there to help. I guess you just like to turn things around to enhance you own self importance, and try to stir up hateful dialog.

hmmm.I wonder why more business' didn't get involved in this. Perhaps most business owners realize it's best for business to stay impartial so as not to alienate customers ?

you didn't think these people would actually do anything from the kindness of their hearts do you? The pic that came out in Colton Courier speaks a thousand words-the Christmas Dinner last year was nothing more than a meet and greet for David Zamora and a photo op for CF who were told by the Police Chief to clean up their image. Now they couldn't care less if the library closes as long as THEY don't have to help chip in to keep it open via the UUT.

Now were did you hear that the police chief told CF to clean up their image? Your just spreading false stories to try and make CF look bad. It's my understanding that Miller isn't even happy with them because they are bucking the CPOA for not making any immediate cost savings, not years down the road. And why do you tie the UUT with the library when the CPOA continues to claim the loss of the UUT is what's hurting THEIR pocket and say they won't give up any pay or benefits? The CF people did give out many food baskets to those in real need. What have YOU done to help the community lately?

Better check last weeks Courier. On page 2 there is a picture taken and submitted BY A Colton First MEMBER of the group-standing behind only 4 small baskets. You do have a point tho-if they weren't doing it as a public relations stunt then why send a picture to the paper?

It was 16 baskets filled with meat, fruit, breads and all the other staples necessary. The lies and misleading comments never go away do they.

And no, the chief never said anything like that so just another lie from the petty people.......

YOU PEOPLE ARE PATHETIC!!!

Utility tax loss to hit city hard

COLTON – The impending loss of a utility users tax that provided a significant chunk of the city’s operating income could result in a halt of popular youth recreation programs, the closure of the Luque Branch Library and reduced maintenance of streets and parks.

For a town with 50,000 residents during a failing economy you people really made a difference! Like I said-it was just another PR stunt. BTW-I picked up the courier this morning and the picture only shows FOUR baskets.

Guess you never heard of cropping a picture to fit available space. Bottom line is this: Citizens for Colton First helped 16 families that local churches identified as needing food! And we were happy to help!

Like the other person asked: What have you done? Probably nothing! You are one sick person for being critical of anyone who helps!

I strongly suggest that you seek some mental health treatment!

Bottom line is:
Mathew 6:1 "Be careful not to do your `acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
