Moreno Valley is looking at adding a first warning to its zero-tolerance city noise ordinance, which imposes penalties ranging from $100 to $1,000 fines.

In other business, the staff rejected the idea of renaming Cactus Avenue to March Memorial Parkway. Council members agreed that the $85,000 cost to redo street and freeway signs was too expensive.

Instead, council members directed the staff to investigate the installation of two March Memorial Parkway dedication signs on Cactus, to be paid for with private funds.

Council members also agreed to postpone until March discussing two issues: adding "In God We Trust" to the city motto and a crime deterrent law for owners and operators of rental properties.

“Citizens first.”

Why give a warning? The person knows how loud they are bumping their music. I say increase the fine. People need to have some consideration for there neighbors.

Warbird you can go to Zillow.com put in your address and get a picture, value address numbers of all your neighbors,I do this for the same reason, check it out. And I'm glad you are sticking up for your neighbor hood. People that want to party do need to have some consideration for their neighbors. They can keep it down or be fined or they can you rent a hall if they want a big bang party.

Warbird you sound pretty ignorant why do you have to point out its "that mexican music" or "rap music"? Loud music is loud music right? or would it be ok if it was loud rock music? And you really should learn how to spell before you go posting up your ignorant/racist comments cause it just proves my point even further

You numbnut. Joe made a valid point. "loud music is loud music right?" He didn't mention anything about white people. You proved yourself to be prejudice and the true DRAMA QUEEN.

I totally agree with you... I just moved to Moreno Valley a month ago... I think I am maybe 1 out of 5 family's in my direct neighborhood and every weekend the same party goes on, and sorry it is rap music... Nothing but blacks and Mexicans in the neighborhood... I am not racist but really why isn't there more white family's in the neighborhood? I feel like a minority. I def. don't fit in and its obvious. Its not only the music cause I listen to all types, its the fact that when I am walking down the street and have some black guy ask me, would you hate me if I told you I love you, while I am with my 2 year old daughter, THAT IS NOT RIGHT. This neighborhood makes me feel unsafe and not secure. I will be def. moving when the lease is up. Noise is one of the many reasons!

.

Why is it about Color ....I'm black and have the same issues .people should respect their neighbors regardless . I can say I have had to call the police atleast 4 times and yes all have been Mexican but to say things like blacks and Mexicans go back to where we came from is dumb. I mean every race has its rude people not just us. Don't act like all of LA is bad . I mean only some parts of moreno are nice .....white trash is in Moreno as well

I'm Mexican and I hate that sh1tty music you ignorant people call "Mexican music". There are all kinds of music genres in Spanish just like there are in English.
And I hate noisy neighbors as well.

In what part of town do you live? Must be one of the worst parts. Where I live is about 40% white, 40% Hispanic, 15% black, 5% other.

Those blacks really love white women almost as much as they love chicken. Don't get involved with a crazy black in moval or you might end up like that poor white woman shot and burned by her black ex in front of her kids.

What about the noise of the city? Whatever or wherever is the question. That constant 24 hours day for months on end ultra low frequency hum/vibration. Power generation or fracking, still looking into what the source of this absolute annoyance is. Will the source of this taos hum type noise have to pay a fine?

It is the tranquility of the neighborhood that is being destroyed by certain individuals, usually the same few residences. When dispatch is called, the calling party is informed that officers are busy elsewhere with more violent crimes and that it could be hours before an officer could investigate.
With a hefty fine imposed maybe these few residences will get the hint, obviously they can't afford to rent a hall for such parties.
It does not matter what race, creed, color or music preference, something needs to be done.
At the conclusion of these parties one would have to assume a lot of DUI violations are being missed. This revenue could greatly increase city coffer's and pay for a task force to insure all drunk drivers be apprehended, contribution to a minor, non licensed drivers, impound fees and even add a few such as neighborhood cleanup costs, bio hazard fee for each instance a diaper or condom has to be removed. These fees and arrest will pay the overtime to get the job done.
City Counsel members need to get out of those chairs and act!!!!!
