Yes, the real will of the people has spoken loudly and clearly. What a repudiation of Colton Mayor Kelly Chastain and her failed policies along with her police and fire union cohorts. A 60% to 40% beatdown of an incumbent Mayor is almost unheard of and sends a strong message that Colton residents are tired of "business as usual." Chastain's years as Mayor will go down as a sad chapter in Colton history where arrogance, ineptness, lack of accountability and failure were commonplace and the only people that benefitted were the public safety unions while everyone else suffered. The residents of our city want to make sure the elected officails and staff put the Citizens of Colton First and have clearly given the city council that mandate through the results of this election. Colton can now start the long process of rebuilding from the damage that has been done by Chastain and the previous city management the past 4 years.
