No ifs, ands or ... butts

It's a familiar scene: You walk into your apartment/townhouse/five-bedroom McMansion after a night of drinks with your crew and smell something rank.

It's great that a business owner can decide whether or not to permit a legal product AND their employees have a CHOICE whether to work there or not...that's called FREEDOM...the welcoming ashtray gets my $$$...THANK YOU to the bars and restaurants that haven't succumbed to the junk-science lies of the well funded anti-smoker hysteria! I'll see ya for lunch!:-)

There is nothing better than coming home from a pub and not have to worry about changing and showering immediately because of the smell of smoke on your clothes, skin and hair. If I go into a bar where smoking is permitted, obviously i'm going there for good reason, maybe a band or good beer special, but it's nice that bars are doing this w/o a law installed. Heck, smokers might actually cut back since they'll have to go outside. I do believe though the state should leave it up to the bars of what they want to do. If the place is good enough, people are going to go there regardless if they smoke or not.

I'm not going to say the anti-smoking info is wrong, even though I still smoke, unfortunately. There are people like my mother who is 85, in better health than I am, whose one vice is - she smokes cigarettes. Not even a pack a day anymore, but she does smoke. And even her doctor has stopped asking about it - she seems to be immune, for which her family is grateful.

The researchers found that from age 20 to 56, obese people racked up the most expensive health costs. But because both the smokers and the obese people died sooner than the healthy group, it cost less to treat them in the long run.

I'm sure your grandmother's house smells lovely. There's always that one in a 1000 lifelong smoker that has survived, that the smokers can point to if they need support for their habit.

I love Stooges and am so extremely thrilled they went non-smoking!! Love the Allentown Brew Works too. I only patronize non-smoking places. There are plenty of other places for smokers to go.

The Morning Call knows these stories generate a ton of responses, so they yet again agitate this subject once again. AND I repeat myself once again..

U'r sucking more chemicals up your nose the minute you hit the streets from cars, trucks, jet engines, trains, etc. Your meats and milk contain antibiotics and growth hormones (true reason for obesity). Foods containing synthetic ingredients with some 700 unverified safe ingredients. You inject BOTOX. Personal care products are out of control. EXAMPLES..

Your water is tainted (including many of the plastic bottled waters). Planes and ships dump their waste water into the air and sea. These things you are exposed to far more then a few minutes of a couple of grams of tobacco.

Many of you skateboard, ski, jog in street, drive on a crowded freeway bumper to bumper, plays sports, etc. etc. etc.

Stop following the herd start worrying about the BIG STUFF. Get over it already move on to more important issues like your Freedom being threatened!

Wow you must never leave the house with all your worries! Second hand smoke is a much more direct threat to non-smokers than all the nonsense you just stated.

Smoking should be banned in all restaurants and bars. You can't smoke in Philly, NYC, Boston or DC bars for good reason. Nobody is saying you can't smoke when you go out...just go outside or to the designated areas. Is it really such a problem, or are some smokers that pathetically lazy? Most smokers I know don't want to sit in a stink filled bar either and prefer stepping outside.

It's absolutely filthy to sit amongst exhaled smoke all night and to then get into bed is even more vile.
