Well it wasn't Barner because I heard Moberly made that idiot a Principle. Barner was the worst teacher I ever had in Moberly! The guy was just a Jerk off!

They have and had a bunch of jerk-offs!! How about the jerk at the middle schoole years ago, who threatened kids if they didnt get haircuts? At the same time I had a teacher who slapped a girl so hard she went flying out of her chair! The head guy up there didnt do any thing about it. The girls stepfather came to school and and he threaned good. I remember he even came to our class and told us if we had problems to come see him!! And he would come back to school and take care of them! This jerk teacher was named Woods.

The teacher is not longer at Moberly - I saw that on the news. I don't think it would of be Barner he is strict but not a pervert. Also this guy had kids from what I understood but I could be wrong.

I do wanta say Moberly did have some good teachers. Mr. Roach and Mr. Keen are two of HS teachers, are the best! I repect them! The bad of the bad was a MS Ms' Gerke. We called her Ms. Jerk! Mr. Klocke at the MS was a very good teacher and a good man!

Roach and Keen were cool. But when you would hear them mentioned, Itchy Crawford got thrown in there also. Roach, Keen and Crawford, like it was a law firm.

Remember the Bob Roach style of yelling-teaching? Keen and Crawford would be talking away in their own style, and Roach would be hollering away. The weird thing about that arrangement was that no matter which teacher you had, you could hear all three of them.

I think Roach had a coronary while in the middle of a class. I was already out of school, but I think that's how it went. I presume he loved to teach, and they say it's good to die doing something you love, but...man. That would have freaked me out if I'd been in that class.

Ms. Gerke had some B.O. issues. Poor thing. A bunch of us got together and put a can of deodorant in her desk drawer once.
Her brother Earl used to play for the Greyhounds in the late 60's.

Frankenberry was a good guy but he was pretty freaky. Had a knockout wife but that didn't stop him from trolling when he could.

Samp, now there's a guy who had a legal skirmish or two with the younger ladies. The authorities weren't really geared to deal with it back then. These days, I believe he'd be prison bound.

Marion Klocke. The one-armed master. He was a good Shop teacher. I believe he was also the Principal at Renick before he went to MJH. I liked how on his prosthetic hand, the finger-thumb was pinched and he could hold a cigarette with it.

Don't leave out Mr. Hoch! That man was a snazzy dresser and all around good guy!

I thought Barner was just a putz. If that guy had favorites everyone else was a piece of crap. I remember how he loved Jesse baker and travis britton and those guys thought he was a complete assclown! He would throw our good football players off the team and we would win 2 games a year if we were lucky. Just a jerk off!

My favorite person at Moberly senior high was the lunch ladies and the janitors. what a great group of people!

Marion Klocke, who was originally from Edina, taught at Higbee before going to Renick, Moberly, etc.

Funny you should mention that.

Years ago I was at a Cardinal spring training game at Al Lang Field in St. Petersburg. While watching batting practice I was talking baseball with the stranger next to me, as people do at those games. Turns out he was from Edina, and when I told him I was from the Moberly area, he said he had a childhood friend who taught school in Moberly and asked if I knew the great Marion Klocke.

"Know him"?! I babbled semi-drunkenly, "I still have the plaque he helped me make in 7th grade."

It's a small world out there.

I'll bet that plaque was a little crocked. Good teacher but seriously not that good. I do remember one day when his arm fell off in class and this girl started screaming because all year she never noticed his arm. I take that back Klocke is money.

I went to school a bit later then you guys. I remember Mr. and Mrs Hollenbeck, Mr. Frankenberry (nice guy, used to help his son dj, he would walk around drunk flirting with all of the girls, lol!) Anyone in my time remember Mr. Greenwell? Got arrested with marjuiana with some football players? What about Tuesday nights at Taco Bell with Mr. Clockngay ?spelling?. Too bad I never did that, sounds like so much fun!

They let him get away with it for 15 years then finally fired him! I don't know if I mentioned it but Coach Barner sucks!

Frankenberry was cool. He used to work at Connors Sporting Goods in the summer. That was when he just started out. He worked on his farm after that.
