Just a warning, I recently went to Red Bud Dental for an emergency appt, upon hearing a root canal and crown would be nescessary, they made me an appointment for the work, asked me to pay my deductible $50.00-(which I did)and gave me a statement showing the cost. After checking prices around town , I discovered they were really high, so I called back to cancell the appointment, and asked for my $50.00 to be refunded, at first I was told to come in the next day and they refund it, along with 3 other people calling me asking me why I was cancelling, I very nicely explained that they were higher than another dentist office and I couldn't afford it to be done there. I called the next day to make sure they were open-12-12:30, and was told that they would have to wait for my insurance to pay before they would refund it, a month I was told. One month later, I called back after 3 calls of leaving messages, with no call back, I finally caught the woman I needed to talk to, and she told me that they only process refunds every quarter, that I could check back in amonth, that is where I am at now--they r giving me a hard time and won't refund $50.00, I just don't understand the hatefulness coming from them,!!!

They are a bunch of crooks.I was also told I needed a root canal and crown.$1800.00.He drilled on my tooth 3 different times. After each visit the pain was unbearable.Their office made me an appointment with a specialist in Chattanooga.He said he would take care of any bills there.Once I was there he told the specialist he would not pay him.He had done so much damage to me the dentist there did the work any way and did not charge me. I did NOT need a root canal!!!! I went through all that pain and money for nothing.

@You stupid-Me stupid--YES, u r so right---I was only thinking about taking care of my son as soon as possible--lesson learned!!!
@Been there---I feel you---and once my son did see another dentist--Dr Lim-(he's great--he found that, it was the tooth behind the one red bud dental was going to do--that tooth is fine--and NO as of May 13th--still no money back!!!!

I have been going to newborn for over 10 years with nothing but good things to say about him. He has done two crowns and one root canal and I have had no problems. He even sent me to a specialist one and it didn't cost me anything.
I am sure people might have problems, but some of us are happy customers and trust Dr. Newborn.

Well, good for you Sam. Seems like he does a lot of root canals!Why the need for your specialist? After newborn destroyed my tooth and could do no more he also sent me to one. Once I got there and the specialist called him, newborn told him he would not pay him.(newborn got me the appointment) Told me it would not cost me. When the specialist seen what he had done to me he repaired as could as he could. He is going to run out of specialist if he does not pay them.

UPDATE---now they tell me that they aren't going to refund my $50.00--(Insurance deductible) because on the bottom of a page it states prepayment for treatment is non-refundable---well its an insurance deductible--and they asked me to go ahead a pay----they may keep my $50.00, but I know alot of people in town and work with alot more people, so red bud dental will end up losing more than $50.00, because i will tell any and everyone, exactly how red bud Dental treats people.

Amber,Glad that is all the money they got from you.I would gladly give up my money for my tooth back, the way it was.Sam never answered why newborn had to send him to a specialist!

Wow, I had almost the exact same experience. He could not get me numbed correctly, then threw his instruments down & told his staff to send me to the Endodontist in Chatt. to finish it. Rude as hell. The Dr. in Chatt. was super nice & gentle & finished up what the a$$ of a dentist at RedBud Dental could not! I have other stories about him & his work there, but I'll save it for another post.

I have been going to that office for more than 25 years, when the first dentist, Dr. O'Neal started it. He left later on, another one was there briefly, then Dr. N came. No problems for years, then that office went to hades. One of the office managers who left told me N. was so rude & hateful to his staff, that he had 15 employees come & go over a years' time. He just got more & more rude as time went on. That office got a LOT of $$ from me (& my ins. co.) over the years, but he lost my business. I now see Dr. Ku here, & she does a super, professional job. One of the hygienist there told me more than a few of Red Bud Dental previous patients came to them now, & had some bad things to say about Dr. N.

I HAD TWO DENTAL PROCEDURES PERFORMED THIS PAST WEEK AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY, COMFORTING DENTAL ENVIRONMENT IN MY LIFE! DR. NEWBORN AND HIS TEAM WERE SUPER AND MADE A UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATION QUITE BEARABLE. DR. NEWBORN HAS COMPILED A TOP NOTCH STAFF-NOBODY EXCLUDED! I EVEN RECIEVED A FOLLOW UP CALL THE DAY AFTER TO CHECK ON MY STATUS-MY VETERINARIAN IS THE ONLY PERSON TO EVER DO THIS. KUDOS TO DR. NEWBORN AND HIS EXCELLENT TEAM!! I'M REALLY GLAD I DIDN'T ASK DR. NEWBORN IF HE CAUGHT THE "BIG MOUTH BILLY BASS"--HIS REPLY WOULD OF BEEN DESERVEDLY BRUTAL!

I went to Newborn just recently and am suppose to go back for a dental procedure. I keep holding off but need to go before the end of the year before benefits run out. Reading all this I am really concerned now about going back. I have only read one good comment and all the rest are bad. It seems the good comments are just from men, maybe he does not like women?? Should I go else where????? He was not actually too friendly when I was there but it was like his staff tried to laugh at everything he said. I did not get a good impression from him so I am waivering on which direction I need to go.

I talked just recently with his office manager and i mentioned all the bad reviews on the internet. Her reply was you always hear the bad stuff and that it is crazy out there. The office manager does seem to be really nice and if i did return to that office she would be the only reason but I still have concerns about Newborn. I do not want to end up with more problems and like I said I did not get a good impression on my first visit. Does anyone have a problem with the new office manager that he has now? I know what she has told me and I am suppose to go back but I am really worried. I do not see other reviews of dentist on here like I do about Newborn so my concerns are that he must really have a problem?

Oh yeah another thing she said that with all the bad reviews that is why they have a guarantee on anything that they do. She said they would make it right and they gave a guarantee. She said most dentist do not give this guarantee like they do.
