I think everyone in Gordon County is tired of the same old tax and spend politics that we have seen with Alvin and Judy. Its a shame that in a time of inflation and high gas prices they continue to raise our taxes or millage rates and say they are doing well as our elected officials. Its time for change and lower taxes and we need to vote Alvin and Judy out of office this years to get fiscally and socially responsible politions in offce for Gordon County.

I agree, they placed a new park in Calhoun right next to the city park. Why. The city aready had a park but you will not find a park in Ranger, Plainville nor Rasaca. We need real change in our County leadership.

Afton Bailey is my daughter and I dont think she took to kindly to the things ya'll were saying about her GRAN. However,she is only 9 so you best watch what you say back to her. I think Judy has done a wonderful job and apparently everyone else does too or she wouldnt of been re elected! Right? Its not like she won by two or three votes people. This is exactly WHY we vote,people are stupid and dont know whats going on half the time....they just vote however!

They vote and do not know what is going on. Therefore how can you say Judy is doing a good job. Crime is up, taxes are up, and economy is down. That is all accured while Judy was and is in office. LOL

Judy has tried her best not to raise taxes. Judy has built a new jail,which we would of been forced to do in the near future anyway. Judy also put money into recreation for our children to help keep kids out of trouble. Now,lets here you FACTS.

You might want to check your spelling before posting. As too Judy, she has never voted against any spending in Gordon County that has been placed in front of her. It’s not our fault that she makes herself looks like a fool on TV does it? We expect our elected officials to think and not just do as they are told. Just like Obama now taking a hit from the medical and opinion polls, Judy is no different than other politicians by the public. Judy made the decision to hold a public office and use our collective Tax money to spend on services for the public. To date, over 65%-75% of the taxes for Gordon Co is going to Calhoun and not the rest of the county. Plainville, Resaca, Ranger, and other outlining areas of this county do not get new schools, new parks, new roads, or other improvements that Calhoun gets. Why not? Because we have Fools like Judy Bailey.

Calhoun has a long history of taking on revenue projects that Gordon County wouldn't.Water in the county? Nope,county wouldn't do it,so the city did and reaps millions in cash.When the new landfill opened the county could have put in a waste treatment plant with the feds paying half the cost.Nope,wouldn't do it.Now,not only is the city putting in sewer in the county,the county has to pay the city to treat runoff from the landfill.The current comission is just a mirror of the earlier ones.

Judy's grandchild goes to the city,family first huh???LOL Oh & by the way,Snorville is also looking pretty good,maybe you should just relocate the the other side of town. Who would waste money on PLainville?Come on now. Oh yea...as far as Resaca goes,she gave ya'll a new jail to get those folks outta the city,what more do ya'll want?

How ridiculous it is to get on a blog and slander someone who is trying to make a difference in our community. If you think you can do a better job than Alvin or Judy offer yourself for public office. I am proud of this county and the leaders who have had to make some tough decisions during the last few years. I don't agree with everything they have supported but they are making wise choices for my children's future home community. If I don't like their direction I can either vote against them or run against them - not slander them like the cowards on this blog. So my suggestion to you is simple - shut up or put up. And by the way "get a life" - do something productive other than exercise your pitiful typing skills!

You stated you voted for Mitch and I bet you voted for Judy, and for a final guess you voted for Obama as well. Some did vote against Judy but the Calhounidiots voted to keep her in therefore according to our constitution we can publically speak about how bad she is doing, since everyone knows Calhoun Times will not. I would be happy to stop telling the truth about Judy the criminal but you would have to stop taxing me first!

There is a big difference between a doer and a "do-nothin". At least some are trying to do something. Obviously your a "do-nothin" - someone who does nothin but complain.
Or maybe your a "has been" who's no longer running this county into the dirt and lives their life to complain about everything positive.
Or maybe your just plain dumb.
If you don't like it, vote her out (if you can)or ... just leave. There is plenty of places for "do nothin's" to reside (and spend their "so-productive" time complaining about everything) instead of here!
