BUSINESS: Canal Concert Series is major topic at LBA event

It is out and its a couple weeks prior to the start. No different then Thursday at Square etc....
I can't wait. It is another nice addition to DT Lockport and several blocks from my house. No need to drive anywhere!

as for the price of gas:

16 mi from N Tonawanda to Lockport. Even with a full size truck getting 16mpg one would be in for 2 gallons of gas:$9.50. Is it really a deal breaker for a show?$10 for as many people as your car can hold?

Ok, so... this is what I am understanding... the canal concert series is being held in Lockport on Friday's, and in NT at the Gateway harbor on Saturday's? The same line up, just different days and locations.

Is this right??

Someone told us that Lockport Series has restriced parking you must pay $10 ???!!!???

Plenty of free parking in city lots and on street parking. Some local private lots were a little over zealous charing $10 to use their lots and hence their lots were not used much. Will pry be reduced for the next show. But even if they are not, 8,000 people were easily able to find parking without any major traffic backups or anything.

I was amazed how smooth it went for the initial event.

Ron Hawkins concert ha haa.. sounded like a cross between carnival music and bad imatation of Blue Rodeo...the people were the only thing that saved the show.

Loverboy cancelled,the promoters this year really sucked! Beer issues,bad scheduling,cancellations,etc. Lockport maybe the place to go now,any body tell me how the lockport concerts are?

I have no complaints. Sound was great, views were great, parking was not a problem , entry etc was easy at at least one of the three entry points. Felt a lot roomier than either tonawanda or the square in buffalo ever did while still feeling intimate in an urban setting.
