LCUB Ratepayers Shell Out Big $$$$$ for NYC Hotel
If you are an LCUB ratepayer who has been told the utility works hards to keep your rates down, you can be certain they weren't referring to hotel rates. When it comes to lavish accomodations, nothing is too good for the LCUB and EDA managements (or, at least that appears to be their opinion). In their quest to acquire the Bon & Grand shopping center where Dollar General & SAV-A-LOT now do business, LCUB General Manager Fred Nelson, Assistant GM Shannon Littleton, and EDA president Pat Phillips are staying at the Wesson hotel on NYC's Manhattan island. A room there is said to be a minimum of $300 per night. Whether any of these three is capable of sharing a room is not known.Between hotel bills, per diem costs, and round-trip airfare ($1245.00), LCUB will have to sell a lot of electricity to subsidize this expensive junket. We can only hope and pray they don't decide to stay an extra night or two.Hurry home guys! We'll leave the lights on for you.

The question isn't the room cost, although you can stay in Manhattan in a decent hotel for about $200 / night on short notice. The issue is really the necessity of the trip at all and therefore the total expenses.

Believe me, they will spend for, "because it's the best"! You will never be able to see what kind of meals they ate because they do not bring that type of information back because they are per deim on the travel expense. You better believe a $400 meal for 3 which will include alcohol will be charged to the rate payers. They don't care because they think they are better than us peasants and they can spend it like they want to while they are in power. Yep they got the power and they can do as they please. When will this stuff stop? They poor mouthed their employees saying they had no money for raises with the exception of the office and now they all of a sudden have $5 Million in their kitty fund. They can always find money when it benefits them. Why is that so?

Maybe the reason they can spend like there is no tomorrow is because everyone needs electricity- you cannot do without it. They will just raise the rates and we will be forced to pay whatever they ask. Never mind that some people are on fixed incomes and will have to choose between eating and staying warm. That is not their concern because they don't think it could ever happen to them.

Not when you earn over $100,000 per year like they do. They don't care about anybody but their self-serving selves! The sewer and water rates have gone up too. They don't care if they turn off poor people's heat, water, etc because they can not pay. The more money to run up to New York or down to Miami for a so called meeting. They can go buy themself another shopping center or a building downtown to make some of their friends happy or give themself a big fat raise. At least there were a few of them that voted against all this so we should give them credit. Thanks!

Wait - Wait - Wait!!! Instead of finding fault with the LCUB "representatives", everyone should be taking notes. Just imagine what "nifty" tricks and "evasion" tactics we all could learn. There is lots of money to be made in lots of various ways (any mafia member can tall you that). Then again, if the only thing the public is going to do is sit around and complain about the stuff Fred, Shannon, Pat, and oh so many others are getting away with, we are not only promoting "bad behavior", we are encouraging it. Public officials, or should I say - Public leaches, will not go away just because of public out-cry. These guys (and ladies, too) are so use to hearing the public crying that they no longer look up from their computer screens. The concept of "fear" and of being caught, and having to walk the same road as any other crook who gets caught, is not part of their vocabulary. Yes, Fred, Shannon, and Pat (just to name a few) have trained the public well , and are now reaping the rewards for their hard work and efforts. So get use to rising rates and all the other "junk" on tap for the future. And, by-the-way, remember this - honest, high-quality leaders and "representatives" don't live in Lenour City or Loudon County because we, the citizens, prefer it that way...we just wouldn't feel comfortable if we couldn't complain about the conduct of the very people who dictate our way of life.

I applaude you court reporter! Did you ever think about running for office? You might be the answer to some of this bad stuff in Lenoir City and Loudon County. You are right. I have seen from a distance what they can do to honest people. If the honest ones do get into office then that bunch of crooks will take over their offices or send out lies on them. What is so bad, nobody checks their lies out and lets the crooks stay. Maybe I will feel better after this year's elections. I hope so.

Tim - thanks for your "vote" of confidence, but I prefer to stay on the side-lines, making life unpleasant for the "cockroach mafia". These "wonderful" entities have no problem standing on the steps of City Hall, auctioning off the homes of innocent people who can't pay the taxes on their property (because the taxes have been raised for the very purpose of "kicking" the current owners out), laughing all the way to the bank with "kick-backs" in hand, paid by the "scum-bags" who "bought" said property. Think of it, find any loop-hole in the law and just walk through it. If you need help and/or suggestions, Dole Arp ( and "friends") have written the book on this particular aspect of "robbing-from-the-poor " and giving back to ones "friends and close associates.

Court Reporter- I wouldn't give yourself any credit for thinking you are making any of the city officials lives "unpleasant". But I'm glad you think so highly of yourself. I doubt any of them are losing any sleep over your odd comments (or any of the other crap you think you know).

Hummmmmmmmm I think I got you figured out Mr. Lawyer for the City/LCUB and Asst. Manager for LCUB (Ha what a joke) Funny that your trip made you leavubg from Lenoir City on Feb. 21 thru Feb 23 because of your vacation on the ratepayers' money, there were no post from ITK. Now all of sudden you are posting again. Hello Mr. Littleton! Welcome to the forum. LOL

Again you are wrong!! I can honestly tell you that I am not Mr. Littleton nor Terry Vann. I really think those two men are too busy to write (more so, I doubt that they would care what these low lives think of them! But obviously they seem to be two popular people!! But you most know all about them (or must be very concerned to know the dates that they were gone!!(by the way were they gone until the 29??? my first "comeback"? I was getting over hearing the same crap from the same person with many different alias's. This talk blog room is very elementary and is really getting quite boring with your obsessions over all the city officials!! I think I'll find a new room where others actually give me a challenge! I hope you all continue in your misery of hating the city in which you live. Now remember there is always an easy way to fix that, LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!you won't be missed!)

All I can say is that you are one stupid lawyer. Just like slurner said, you must have gotten your law degree on line or from correspondence course.

You must not be too bright (or listen to well). But again, I am flattered that you think I am someone of his position! Thanks!

With all that education you can't even write a correct sentence.(or listen to well) should be (or listen too well) Now who is stupid, huh?

In closing English professor, I see two different types of people here. One that is accused of something and hides, otherwise known as a coward. Then I see others who are accused of something else, and stands up for themselves (and for the truth)and fights, that my friend, I call a hero. I see the hero's are still standing.....

I don't know what you are talking about, but keep talking "my friend" because you are a complete fool and everybody with the exception of your crooked buddies know what you stand for. Your day will be coming and the honest and good people of this town are anxiously waiting for your nose-dive. No need for a come-back. I think we have what we need from you, as you say. But of course, everyone knew anyway. It didn't need this blog.

According to the Lenoir City librarian (whose husband is the public defender), Mr Littleton has a Jerry-Falwell-law-degree. He got it from Liberty Baptist Bible College in Lynchburg, Virginia. If you think about it, that could explain a lot! |

Even though the idea of overexpenditures on travel is troubling, my real concern is why there is a $4 convenience fee to pay an LCUB bill online? I get stuck wasting a check and a stamp every month because LCUB is stuck in the 1990's and refusing to properly take advantage of technological innovation. Thanks.
