Wow, Sad but I'm hardly surprised. The loonies were out driving today. Cell phones plastered in their ears and stereo's blasting (I'm not saying that this was the case in this accident). Full Moon? Nice Weather? The Earthquake? Whatever, I think it's a good time for a spring wake up call. Everyone is feeling good about winter being over and the beautiful weather but you can't ever let you guard down when you are driving, even in the nice weather.

The headline on the front page of your website says "Two Teen-age boys die". Yet they story indicates two boys in their early 20's. That's not TEEN!!!
How can anyone trust your NEWS reports!!

What makes it even more sad is that they were kids. I tell you, kids should not be allowed to go free wheeling on the roads anymore. They should not be given full licenses until they are 18.

Ok, if your going to write a story about this terrible thing that happened today, could you please get the name of the school right. Its not Kellogg Thornapple, its Thornapple Kellogg...If you could fix that, that would be great...

My prayers and thoughts go out to the families...We made it out of Winter alive, lets make it out of Summer too...Take the time and slow down..Just because there isn't ice on the roads doesn't mean its okay to drive fast...Take the time and drive safe...

I can't help but wonder why so many accidents are from people crossing the centerline? True, we have many potential distractions now, but we had distractions in the past too. I suspect it might have something to do with how quick the steering is now compared to past cars. It takes very little movement of the wheel to change lanes with the newer cars.

It doesnt matter if they were 16, 18, 20, 102 if your driving to fast and loose control the same thing is going to happen. And even if you were to limit their liscense while still under 18, what are your rules going to be....no driving while the sun is up, or while its down, actualy no drving period???? Use your intelligence, and be sympathetic for the families who have lost someone very dear.

It clearly states they were 16 and 18. That IS teenage.

My thoughts to the families. What a tragedy.

I attend Caledonia High School and we already lost Nick over the summer, I am deeply saddened that we've just lost another classmate. I am deeply sorry for their families.

Oh Molly - for as sad as this is - the truth is - everyone at some point in time makes a bad decision.
I see adults everyday who drive like they are in a hurry to die. They blow red lights like... stopping is only a suggestion. Drive the x-way and you will be "blown away" by old guys and young women. Speeding- talking - eating -appling make-up. Driving while distracted kills -
It is just to bad that some people will find that out sooner than others. If you want to protect kids from heart ache and learning things the hard way - parents need to set a proper example. Talk to your kids - tough love wins.

Again, sad but true. It wasn't a teenage driver who almost picked me off on the bike on the way home this afternoon. It was a very middle-aged woman with a cell phone plastered to her ear and completely unaware and oblivious to what was going on outside of her car.

I hope that all of you keep your opinions to yourselves for the time being.

My granddaughter knew these boys. They are members of her Youth Group at Alaska Baptist Church. She and the rest of the Church are there now, trying to make sence of this and comforting each other. These boys were suppose to be at Church tonight with their Youth Group. From what my daughter told me tonight, these boys were good Christian boys. Maybe they were going over the speed limit and lost control, who of you hasn't gone over the speed limit in your lifetime. I have read some other posts on this story and it made me sick. I guess anyone can post anything on here and not care whom reads it. But G O D, and I have to type His name that way so it gets through, will deal with you or show you the right way someday.

These boys were someones sons, grandsons, nehpews, and friends. Please say a prayer for them and their families. And please stop assuming things that you have no clue about. I am waiting for a call from my granddaughter tonight when she gets home from Church so I can talk to her and hopefully comfort her somehow, someway.

My heart goes out to these boys families, and friends.

It's so sad that we don't learn from others mistakes. The report says speed may be a factor.

I also agree with Molly......push the license age to 18. I'm not convinced that all 16 y/o kids are responsible enough to drive.

Very sad that two teens lost their lives. News said that speed was probably a factor? At 16 need to learn to slow down and be safe.

Hurely I have to agree with you cell phones, not paying attention etc....Been there with me and my bike as well!

Thoughts and prayers to the family.

My heart goes out to the family of these young men. I know some people that go to Caledonia, and I'm hoping that the 16 year old isn't one of these boys. I didn't see names listed in the story on TV 13's website, so I have no way of knowing. Hopefully it isn't the family that I know, regardless, it's a very sad situation and I will keep them in my prayers.
