Well, I just learned that I have inherited 5 acres in Caldwell. My hubby's brothers also inherited 5 each. I live in Humble, TX which is close to Bush airport. Can yall PLEASE tell me about Caldwell? My hubby is wanting to keep the land and build there when we retire. We are in our 30's so it will be awhile. Is there a Kroger, CVS, Walmart etc in Caldwell? Restaurants? Thank you so much in advance!

Connie, There is no Kroger, no CVS, but we do have a Wal-Mart, a Brookshire Brothers, a McDonald's, a pizza-hut, a subway and more. we are also home to two car dealerships, and we have a great volunteer fire department which I am a member of, and we in this community are close.

Thank you very much! My dh is driving out there to check things out tomorrow. He is thinking about retiring there. We are in our 30s so I dont know why he has to be thinking about that right now. I REALLY appreciate the information and friendly post :)

DO Not move to Caldwell. It is corrupt, and backwards beyond most Rural Texas counties, and I have traveled to nearly 200 of the 254 counties in Texas. The Justice system and the economic conditions are piss poor. Outsiders are NOT welcome, and national attention will continue to be heaped on the Anthony Graves case, as well as the 30 year history of Prosecutorial misconduct there.
Sell the land you inherited, and buy some in a place that is more moderate and much less rascist. I Promise I KNOW what I am talking about.
Google Reva Towslee-Corbett, Charles Sebesta, Anthony Graves etc... It would not be safe for you, your husband or your children to live there.

Hello Daniel, I just purchased some land in beaver creek and was wondering what is going on with all the maintenance fees being sent my way? I hear there is a meeting on the 5 of Feb and do not know if I can attend, being that I live out of town. I small notice stated that it was for roads and other things. I am wondering if this is new to beaver creek or is it a yearly fee? I was there a couple of weeks ago and noticed the roads could use some improvement and some people needed to get their properties cleaned. Any info you can give me will be appreciated. Belinda

Hi Belinda, i just purchased some land around Pin Oak road. How is life there? I am from South Texas and visit Beaver creek to see some kin there. Do you know an ole timer named Mr. Enest? He lives close to the little church there at entrance area to Beaver Creek. I was wondering whether to keep property or sell it.
