Just watch JERICHO on CBS. The town is basically defenseless because they do not have a trained militia in the town. The SECOND AMMENDMENT is a personal right, not a collective right, and is meant for just such contingencies.

The "government" of what-ever size, cannot protect the citizens or their towns, cities, counties, states or nation. It is up to the individuals to defend themselves and the right to self-defense is given by God, not man.

Your logic baffles me, You say you are a christian, did Jesus ever talk about arming his men, even when Peter cut of the ear of a Roman soldier Jesus heald the soldier. I am from the east coast and plan on moving back when out of the military because you west coast people are idiots

Mr. S: I never said I was a Christian. I am, but that was one huge leap of faith on your part.
Jesus did tell his disciples to arm themselves. He said, "If you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one."
BTW: My logic is based on historical precedense, not "feel-good PC crud."

You better wear your seat belt, Jesus is powerless against iron chariots (Judges 1:19).

Guns even the playing field and make everyone equal. Thugs tend to not like that. Statistics are painfully obvious that armed citizens slow down violence.

Are you saying that the guns used by Larry Eugene Phillips, Jr. and Emil Matasareanu during the robbery of the Bank of America during the infamous North Hollywood Laurel Canyon shoot out, "even the playing field and make everyone equal" and that the "thug" cops "tend to not like that"?

Guns equal the playing field for the law-abiding (men, women, the diasabled, the elderly, etc.) to protect themselves from the thugs. The two you mentioned were seasoned bank robbers. The guns they carried were modified illegally to be fully automatic (they weren't bought that way) and they were wearing homemade body armor.

So, you're saying the "playing field" wasn't equalized by the guns of the two men who did take on the entire LAPD for 44 minutes while the two men tried to liberate US Currency from the Bank of America thugs?

No, that's not what he's saying. He's saying that if we are armed we can better protect ourselves from armed bank robbers.

You need to go back on your meds, Richard. Are you serious, or are you just trying to stir up sh!t? If it's the latter, please take it somewhere else.

Do you own a bank? If so, is it insured? If it is insured, why would you want to get in a shoot out with determined bank robbers who are wearing body armor and carrying rifles and literally unlimited amounts of ammo? If I'm not mistaken, the Laurel Canyon shooters didn't harm anyone in the bank during the robbery and I cannot remember too often where typical bank robbers tried to kill people in the bank robbery itself.

Do you honestly think that you'd want to engage the Laurel Canyon shoot out bank robbers, had you been a customer in that bank during the robbery? Obviously, you'd have simply been the price of a gun ahead if you just jumped up at them and yelled, "shoot me now!".

I notice a lot of the CCW carriers and wannabes have this delusion of grandeur thing about using their CCW as if it was a talisman with magical powers.

Are you serious? Your assertion is that guns didn't even out the playing field for the Laurel Canyon shoot out bank robbers? Dude, they owned the playing field they were standing on and all the adjacent playing fields for 44 minutes BECAUSE of their firearms.

The point is when criminals carry and use AK47's for crime we want to be armed to protect ourselves if attacked, that's all.

We don't interfere with a bank robbery unless a person's life is threatened. And AK47 armed bank robbery comes close to being life threatening THAT'S why armed robbery brings a much higher sentence.

If you and I are laying next to you on the floor of a bank and there's multiple bank robbers with big guns, possibly fully automatic, and they are robbing the bank and you whisper that you got a little revolver and you're going to wHip it out and do something heroic, I'll will stick you in eye with any sharp object I have and roll away from you because I don't believe the bank robbers are going to be that good of a shot when they go to plug you for being stupid.
