May I make a suggestion? Call the merchants association the "China to Calabash Merchants Association" ?

It seems everything I pick up in any store in Calabash has made in china on the bottom.

Even better....There could be a cultural exchange of foods between Calabash and some city in southern China. Imagine a fried clam/ant platter displayed in each store in Calabash?

Maybe Calabash could export a product......ah..ah.. forget it.

Back in the '80's, Pawleys Island did this. It was/is called the Pawleys Island Litchfield Business Association (PILBA). One time, it worked for us. Now it works for the Chamber of Commerce and helps promote Golf in Myrtle Beach - Anyone remember "Taste of the Tidelands"? That was a PILBA function and was moved to the Crown Reef Resort by the Myrtle Beach and Horry County people who moved in and took over.
Be Careful Calabash. If you're successful - I promise~someone from Myrtle Beach will move in and take over.

That's a fact; we can and will cross state barriers to enhance MB!
