1. appoint a board for a feasibilty study to get a grant for key machine. when that grant arrives appoint a board to receive applications for the keymaker. when that posistion is filled then appoint an executive assitant to the keymaker. problem solved everyone has a key.

Do you think that might be because she works with him instead of always being on here running him and other people down? Not saying that is the reason...egad, she does bring in a lot of money for the town if she's the one writing the grants. How many other people are doing that?
If more people were involved, one thing's for sure, they would darn well know more about what is going on instead of all this guess work. Of course, that means always being at council meetings, etc. Dropping by the office with some of that Cairo buttertop coffeecake, or a big bag of barbecue sandwiches. Man, I can think of a million things to try. Some might not work, some might

Sounds like you are advocating bribes. Being Cairo you are probably right, should have thought about that first & would have saved some time.
Actually just took a look at the NRA, AMA, NEA, AFL/CIO, AARP, Big-Pharm, etc. They call it lobbying.

I call it small town, non-partisan neighborliness.

If you live in Cairo, don't give up! This is your city and be proud. Stand tall and don't let the political hacks shape your image of what you should be thinking. I'm a Missourian but spent much of my childhood in Cairo. Cairo needs a sense of pride and OWNERSHIP, that's all. All residents with said concerns should join the Chamber of Commerce. A collective effort within a unified organization can go a long way..........

Darren, do you REALLY think the people here in Cairo are so stupid that they would not think of joining a Chamber or other unified organization if one existed? Those of you who moved away are so condescending to those who chose to stay.

The people here are the ones being threatened. They are afraid, not stupid!

Merry Christmas everybody. If yous think you got a bunch of mental cases in your local government then try taking a look at Fulton, KY. Listen, City of Fulton has been condemming places and demolishing them for about 30 years. But listen, they have made no plans what so ever to replace what they demolish. UMMMM, if they demolish another house or so Fulton will go off the map. There won't be anybody left to live in Fulton to pay taxes so guess at that point the city officials can clock out and go home for good. And yes, City of Cairo is just as sorry.
