What is up with the two new "unsigned" police cars, same color as Cairo PD, one out on freeway Thursday morning writing tickets!, both parked at Washington/Sycamore and a little later under awning at CutMart this morning with officers inside and later both parked at city hall?

Are these the two new police officers who were hired with a grant for traffic enforcement? Where did the cars come from? Are they going to be "signed"?

Are they going to illegally write tickets on the freeway?

How many city officers do we have now to patrol 6 or so sq miles (11?) and how many sheriff deputies (5?) do we have to patrol how many (100+?)sq miles of county.

Will someone please explain why we never read about any drug dealers being arrest within the city limits of Cairo? We do have a drug sniffing dog don't we? Yet ask anyone, young or old & they can tell you were a drug house is located? Is our Cairo police that blind that they don't see what every other person in Cairo does? Do they not care? Or are they ordered to look the other way? What's wrong with, when an officer has time to sit & watch traffic,do so in front of a drug house? Just sit there & watch & write down plate numbers. Take picture of people goings & comings. If we can't arrest them at lease get them to sell there drugs outside of Cairo. Put their picture on a bulletin board in hall way at police station. You don't have to say why their picture is there but a parent sure would.

How many people are driving around in new cars or trucks & have no known jobs? Why not just follow them ride around town? How many addicts want to be seen buying drugs from their dealer with a cop car sitting behind them? Why aren't more addicts being picked up & forced to tell who their dealers are?

We know why nothing is done. Don't we?

A short drive around town a couple of weeks ago and saw the black unmarked CPD car at the liquor store drive up (police business at night at the driveup??) and one of our drug dealers make 3 of his stops, one close to the funeral home, one on commercial and the other????

And we have how many police per sq mile? 3? Maybe if Cairo could go bust they would have to get out of their cars and ride bikes. Don't know that would help but they would be less comfortable ignoring the drug dealers.

Oh Tony you are so right. Because you wear a badge, that makes you somebody. We have alot of those who hide behind their badge. And like the other comments, why aren't they out there doing what they were hired to do. Protect and serve, I think not! More like bully and harrass.

I thought the county had a dope dog. They were at the rabies clinic last year with the dog, and left it in the co. car for about four hours running with the ac on.Now thats real smart.

Yah they should totally have left him in the car without the ac, that's much better.

Was he city or county??

My experience is they normally stay in car with air conditioning on. Wouldn't have an issue with costs of air if we had some drug busts.

Wouldn't have a problem with any cost of government if there were some results, would anyone?

If we had some drug busts and the local law enforcement could confiscate some assets they could sell to cover part of their costs, we would all be happy.
