I am proud to announce the creation of a newly refurbished Cairo Citizen website. It unfortunately is not currently linked to our old website www.cairocitizen.com , however there is a link on our old site to our new one. The new format and program will allow streaming updates to breaking news and obituaries. We hope you enjoy and thank you for your patience. It is still a work in progress. For those who don't want to access our old site and then click to our new site, the address is http://cairocitizen-com.townnews-staging.com

Thanks Barbara! It looks great. You guys have put in some long hours & it's paying off. Are you going to start having weekly police reports from the City & Counties?

Will you have a blog that we can ask questions so you can stop rumors before they go wild?

Thanks, Barbara. Looks like The Citizen is really coming along. Congratulations on a job well done.

Right now, the idea is getting the newspaper back online. Since it's a work in progress, it is something we can definitely address and the publishers can decide what they want to do. Problem with a blog though is it would have to conform to the same scrutiny we apply to the newspaper. We can't use our website as a vehicle for people to attack individuals as it could set us up for some major lawsuits. It would have to be something we could review before it's able to be posted online. I think it's a needed tool, so that we have constant contact with those who view our website and those who subscribe to the print edition of the newspaper. I will definitely address the need for such a tool with my bosses.

What about private messages to you with questions or to report news? Even ideals for topic?

BTW Cairo Newspaper Editor, you can't read this, the type is too small. Thanks though for trying.

Well you know that if you didn't have obituaries you wouldn't have anything for anyone to read at all.

I can't imagine what everyone is seeing because either site I have tried gives the same response. "SITE NOT FOUND" and "SITE NOT ACTIVE" so what's up?

I had the same problem a few months ago, so I called the Cairo Citizen and was told that the site was removed, they will no longer have it online.

Just another great thing CAiro has to offer. They can't even get the website to work. Shouldn't be a surprise being that that town is falling apart

I simply can not get to the Cairo Citizen Website no matter how or when I try. I can only assume that the website does not work for whatever reason. Does anyone else have the same problem>

I emplore the citizens of Alexander County. Johnson and Pulasiki to do the same, inspite off the county Election Results, we MUST prevail as an organization! The recent re-election of the same old sheriff Randy Kern.
And as a "Good Old Boy" the problems with drugs will never subside. WHY?
Certain newly elected Law enforecment officers, protect and allow the "Pervert" era to go on!

GOD HELP the citizens of Pulaski County Illinois Residents!

To do the same? Same what? You are an organization? Organization of what? Of ugly, fat ass, attention starved, yak yak yak yak yak biAtches? Get ya some crayons, cardboard, a stick, couple tacks and a little box. Make you up a little sign, stand on your little box on a street corner somewhere(even draw yourself a little sheriffs badge to wear if it makes you feel better) and preach it.
