Why is it that everyone in Parkfield know whats going on and continue to be quiet. But you complain about the living conditions in Parkfield. Hopefully the death of James McClain also known as Dick would make the people in Parkfield thats not apart of the chaos realize it could have been their son/daughter. If you ask me the only people that attempt to clean up Parkfield is Action Jackson *the Feds* St. Clair County don't give a damn whats going on in the hood, they rather see the kids kill each other rather than do a clean sweep. I can give a list of the trouble makers in Parkfield. The corner that Dick was killed on is the neighborhood hang out, anything going on or if you need to get into something thats the spot to be, any hour of the night and anytime of the day. How about all the people that hang on that corner get together and clean up, stop walking the streets smoking blunts, selling dope, having fist fights and get a damn job. If the owner of that house began to clean house, make the guys hang somewhere else, keep them out of your yard and etc..... most of all this stupidity could be avoided. I wonder if he's said to himself yet that it could've been my children....think's time to make a change and stop raising your children around 20 or more people that not displaying any positive activities around your kids. It only happens because you let it. Keep all those people out of your yard and you wouldn't have Dick blood on your hands, because when someone come looking for trouble, I'm sure you can find them at that house. All I have to say is Mr. Odum your house is messy, clean it up. Stop the gatherings and the trouble makers from coming to your home where your family is.

Wow,I sure don`t remember Parkfield Terrace being bad when I was a kid.The 60s was not bad at all as far as I know. The 70s was alright.Grade school was Centerville and I had a great time there. When I started going to Wirth Jr High, that`s when I seen things starting to change.I went to Cahokia High for a short time, just before Halloween we moved. As far as being bad asses, sometimes you had to be,because the kids all treated us like shit just because we lived in Parkfield Terrace.Who knew it was going to Hell!Sorry for what happen to your friend. It is a shit hole now and it really breaks my heart. All I know is I loved living there as a child. It was not bad then.I know ,I lived there for 17 years.

This is to the person who commented from GA: First of all know the facts. Mr. Odom (get the spelling correct) is my oldest brother. There is nothing wrong with having gatherings at your home. My brother works very hard everyday and deserves to enjoy hisself when he is off. Parkfield is known for their violence, but when someone is minding their own business and something terrible like that happens, it's their fault? I don't think so! James was my son's godfather and a good person, who didn't deserve that. My brother, Mr. Odom is not to blame for this senseless act of violence. I wish people know their facts before speaking the gossip!!

Look, take the dope thing out of the equation. I knew kids who smoked dope and did other drugs back in the 70s who lived there. There was not this violence. IT IS NOT THE DOPE. It is the macho gang/tribe mentality that is the issue. The constant breeding with folks who don't give a damned about their own kids. It happens in africa too. Black men harming their own people and raping women and children. The ignorance of following that culture is the REAL issue. Not "dope". You all need to grow a pair and help the police. If you don't, you like that kind of crap.

Get the good black people out and put the drug dealers in jail and then bulldoze Parkfield Terrace to the ground!!!It hurts to say this because I love living there growing up in the 60s and 70s.But I would rather see it in a rubble being cleared away than watch it die a long and slow death!

Jail hell, put them in the military. Then they can shoot all they want. I'd have to agree, if you destroy homes, they will just move.
