did anyone hear about some one getting held up in shop n save parking lot? i heard some one held a gun to a mans face & took his money & his car in the middle of the day yesterday. just wondering if anyone else heard about it. goes to show you frank is trying to keep everything quiet so he & cahokia does'nt look bad. this came straight from a police officer too! sad, sad, sad.

There have been robberies there quite a few times in the past. No one can see from the store area the way it is built. I don't go there at all. Schnucks is safer. I wish they had a security guard on the outside of the stores.

So, was Frank suposed to have the police and fire departments parade thru the streets with their speakers blaring announcing the robbery. 15 years ago, this was big news in Cahokia. It isn't anymore. People just so "oh, really". If the same thing happened in Columbia or Waterloo, it is news worthy. Sad, sad, sad...

I haven't heard anything about it, but it doesn't suprise me at all. Hope they catch the idiot.

There was a man held up Friday night. It was night tho, not daytime. The men were waiting out by his car. One asked him for a lighter. He reached to grab the lighter for them and when he turned back the gun was in his face. They didnt get anything from him tho. He turned around and walked right back in to the store and the guys ran off..

Don't shop at night and never alone if you are a woman.
Carry a can of mace with you at all times and don't be afraid to use it.
When you are shopping, never place your purse in the cart for someone to steal and gain all your credit cards or know where you live.
Stay close to lights and if your uncomfortable then go home and keep the doors locked on your vehicle and if they try to block you then run over them, get away and then call the police.
IF they hit your car, don't stop, never stop for these people, they will hurt you but unfortunately they have more rights than you do.

My little trick with the purse is to take the little baby seat belt on the cart & loop it thru my purse straps & buckle it. At least when they grab it they will think its just sitting in my cart & get jerked backwards if the seat belt is locked. Gives you a chance to yell for help.

My what a great place to live and raise a family these days. NOT! Most of the town is filthy and the schools are horrible. You people can't walk down any street without fear. You can't even drive down the street without a group of thugs refusing to move out of your way. You can't eat in the restaurants and you can't shop in your own local stores. Just being out after dark is like having a death wish.

Well it's a damned good thing "alert" and her gay partner "Mestaclocan" are gonna take their town back. Just wondering tho ........ how's that goin' for ya?

I agree. But if you say anything about the fear of being out at night they say you are a racist. All I see is black ones out at night.Never any white.A riot broke out at McDonalds a could times and it was all black people.
