I have paid close attention to the water board race. I have attended several meeting in the past months. I have notice that only 2 people have a voice on the board. That would be Dink Halter and Dennis Traitour. None of the other board member hardly say a word.Halter and Traitour seem to run the show. I have made my mind up to vote for Edward Barrett. Mr. Barrett is a smart man when it comes to business, and a strong union man which is what the employees need so they will have some representation on their job. The current board is currently useing unfair labor practices by elimanating jobs for our citizens.

I know Mr Barrett,he was once the secretary for the Camp Jackson Fire Dept. He would be a good man for the job.

Who are the current members?
I noticed that one of the fliers I got on my door
had the name Tara Arthur Bergman on it wanting to be re-elected. Is this Franks wife.
I also noticed today my water bill said I used 2000 gallons of water but being an old single man my bill generally shows 1300-1500 gallons a month and the price for the water is the same and I have no problem with that.
What I do have a problem with this is Am. Bottoms and I'm starting to wonder if all these politicians here are crooked as a snake.
How do you use 700 gallons of water more in the winter months than you use in the summer when your using more water.
At one time they charged you on your monthly water bill from month to month and then they broke it down to get another months payment out of you by dividing it into weeks instead of months.
Then occasionally they will add more usage to your water bill so Am. Bottoms can get more money from you.
Kick all these people out of office.

It's one of his in-laws BUT from what they told me when they wanted me to sign their crapshhet was this is her 1st year running. So how can she say she wants to be re-elected. As far as I'm concerned if she related to Frank, she'll be the last one I'd ever think about voting for.

Hey- if you are just so unhappy with all of the elected officials- maybe you should run for one of positions!!!

I'm in the process of trying to find out what happened with this months Commonfields bill it's over TWICE what it usually is and I don't understand why. I KNOW FOR A FACT that I haven't used TWICE as much water, a matter of fact, it's more likely that I have used less than usual that last 2 months so the bill being double is ridiculous. If I find anything out of pertinence in regards to the amount hike I'll post it later.

Tara is Bobby Bergman's wife. They live in St Louis Gardens for now. I'd expect them to take flight soon too since Mom died and Big Brother has snuck out.

Sounds like they may have misread your meter or you have a leak somewhere.
I thougt about mine and I probably have been using more water lately because I've been home a lot.
If I were you I would call them and have them check it again.

well this about Tara Arthur-Bergman i have known her for a long time and its only the last name. nor her or bobby are bad people they both care to much, more then they should about things in this town.she would be a great canidate for this position because she will speak her mind rather its against frank or whoever. she is definalty a go getter and a good person. she works for the state as a probation officer so she really don't have to answer to anyone or try to protect her last name. so i think you should get to know her before you try to judge her for her last name.

I always give credit where credit is due! If you do a fine job, I would certainly tell you! And by the way, I am not the one do all the complaining- and I do not name call either. So stop your complaining & get out there and run for an office- or- are you afraid everyone will try to run you out of town also! If things are that bad, you will run for office and try to make it better. If you do not run, you are just an everyday in everyway complainer!

Maybe I shouldn't even comment on this but I will.
I don't know the lady and she may be everything you say she is. Also I might add I'm not bashing her.
The name Bergman in my book doesn't mean much and I believe a whole lot of people feel thay way also. It's nothing against her personally.

God Help Us All, I just read another comment you made on a different topic and something you said caught my eye and please understand I'm not bashing you for your opinion, I'm just curious.
What were the problems with Frank when he worked for Commonfields.
I left this area for 16 years and I really don't know much other than what I've seen for the last 13 years.

Frank seemed like a good guy back then & was a hard core union guy at Commonfields. BUT for whatever reason he fell out of his truck & sued them for it staying it was their fault for faulty equipment so he says.

BUT now that he is Mayor of this village he has thrown all his hard core union stuff out the window & could & doesn't care one bit about his fellow X-union brothers. The city street workers have worked I believe 3yrs w/o a contract & Frank refuses to sign it for whatever reason. He also had his Trustees in his pocket & they basicly have refused to pay any claims the workers have against the city yet will pay Frank for his injuries(like falling down the stairs when NOBODY was there, yeah sure he did) at that drop of a hat. From what I have been told & read the trustees have ok'd 10's of thousands of dollars(It may be in the $100's of thousands) of insurance claims Frank has had w/the village at the drop of the hat, I wonder why.

Ask anyone who he worked with at Commonfields or at the Village when he became Water & Sewer manager what kind of guy he was. I'll bet $$$$ most if not all will say he was a great guy to work with and for & most will say he was their friend. Then ask them what they think about him now, well lets just say it won't be pretty. He is a completely changed person & its all for the worse.
As you can tell I have no love loss for this man because of what he has became & I am ashamed to even think I voted for him at the 1st election, NEVER AGAIN. I was taken in by his smooth talking only because he told me and others exactly what we wanted to hear.

well I just checked my bill and both (Commonfields and American Bottoms) are each higher 6-8 $ more for the month of dec/feb5th ...
I think they are sneaking in some rate increases....

Trucker, I do pay my bills when due. The statement from Commonfields is from service dec 30 to feb 5 and due March 10(I paid on the 9th *w*) American Bottoms are the same date span. I'm just agreeing with the above about they seem to be higher and usage of more water durning the winter months????

ahhhhhhhhh just dawned on me, that statement, they billed for 37 days instead of the normal 31 days. very interesting.....maybe the meter reader didn't get all the residents read and turned in. maybe computer problems. that could be why the bill is higher then normal....
