This is a sadly common occurance. I have a friend in another state who is a garbage collector, and he's found two young kittens in garbage bags - those are just the ones lucky enough to be able to make a loud enough noise.

As for the poor excuse of a human being that discarded the puppy, well I can only hope you pay for your actions in one way or another. No reason you couldn't have dropped the puppy at the Humane Society or an animal hospital or other safe haven. What is wrong with you, dumb a**!

This is so sick on how people can treat animals like this. It is a known fact animal abuse leads to people abuse and if a person can do this to another animal who knows if they have a baby they dont like.

On another note puppies love to get into things and it could just be a misunderstanding they may have thought their puppy ran away.

How about the ones who put newborn human babies in the trash? It's just the same type of people abusing another species. Where do these types come from? Just wondering. I don't particularly care for dogs, but I would never deliberately harm one, so I don't think it's a "love thy pet" issue. Perhaps it's a socio/psychopath issue?

We have a cat, who we rescued two years ago when she was just a tiny kitten. She was in a trash bag that had been dumped in an alley off Hudson Ave. in Columbus. Just a few weeks ago we rescued another tiny kitty that was dumped on E. Broad St. People should spay and neuter their animals!

As the owner of two spoiled rottweilers it makes me sick there are people out there that can do this to an animal, any animal. Animal abuse needs to be a felony and these sickos can spend some time in prison for a while. Or just do onto them that they did the animal. I still think that Vick has not paid his debt to society until he is locked in cage with the dogs that he fought.

Hats off to the sanitation worker who saved the puppy. His act of kindness is appreciated. The person who tossed the puppy away as though it had no value performed a cruel and abusive act but the person who saved the puppy did a kind and selfless act. I hope they both get what they deserve.
