10$ for lemonade and funnel cake! I saw a vendor at the street light selling lemonade for 3 dollars...in a sirofoamed cup...lol I walked up and down both sides of the ham festival and all I saw was jewelry..and candles. We didn't spend any money this year. The rides were to expesive. Since we didn't have nothing to do on sunday, we ended up walking it again to see if anyone we knew was there. We didn't see any of our friends but the highlight was when the wind picked up a table with jewelry on it and it went flyin across the courthouse heheeh and A picture frame broke and glass went everywhere... Of course I had to put that on facebook..that was the most excitement we had at hamfest. Don't think we are going to head down there next year...very disappointed. Every year it get's worse and worse...very trashy and expesive!$6.00 for a corn dog or $9.00 for a burger! Don't buy any food at the red vendor by the court house they are exprensive...better off eating before coming to the ham festival..I'm not even going to get on the subject of the pricing on rides! We left Hamfest at 8pm on Friday night..there was teenagers on the street swearing and there parents weren't around, boys pants down to there knees with there hand in there pants like they had a gun or something! Wouldn't be caught dead down there in the dark. Leave when the sun is out! The bathrooms were horriable and the lighting of the festival was horrifing. Would like to know the responses about hamfest and how did you like it this year???

So other than the giant ham biscuit, where could I get some country ham? Ham fest has become a flea market... I think I'm going to get a booth next year, drop the food prices to half of everyone else and force everyone to reconsider what they charge... You could go to Patties on what you spend there ...

I like the way you think..that might actually do some good! Also you would probobly make a good amount of money yourself having the best food prices at the ham fest...I agree with ham fest becomming a flea market, all I saw there was a bunch of junk that can be found at a yard sale for alot less money...

I don't know who hamfest bitch is and don't really care to know someone who speaks so poorly, but the people on here were only stating their opinion of the hamfest if u don't like it comment elsewhere! If you wanna run the hamfest all weekend getting ripped off go ahead it is your choice...Me on the other hand as well as the others who were disappointed with it will probobly be a little smarter and spend the weekend doing something else next year...Keep your nasty talk to yourself, you sound like an uneducated fool!!

I applaud "Hamfest Bitch" for going to the Ham Festival the entire time it was open. Three days straight, that must have been exhausting. Did you take off work/school on Friday? How did you ever make it to work/school on Monday?

I enjoy the Hamfest. It is like a homecoming for many and a time to get out and just enjoy the day. Yes the best sandwich at the festival was the big biscuit. I would like to see the Hamfest go back to the way it used to be. We want the parade back, because it is a time to see the kids that won the pageants and the homecoming queens and all the cheerleaders, etc. When the politicians got involved it changed things. Why not make it a local parade with no politics. Let them do their politicking on Friday and Saturday and leave us alone on Sunday so we can get some people there. I would even take the horses back. No problem. I guess I am just nostalgic.

I'm with you on the parade. It isn't the same without it.

I'm with you on this... Leave out the politics, hire some guy/girl to scoop horse poop and get ham fest away from the flea market it has become.

I enjoyed running into people I hadn't seen since highschool. The highlight of my weekend was seeing the joyful lit up faces of my children. In saying that, I am a Cadiz resident and have went to hamfest every year even when the hamfest didn't have rides, and the rides was like 3-4 at the complex on the forth of July. The expenses seem to get much more higher each year and the fun seems to decrease due to financial barriers and less attractions and highlights offered. I understand that people have to make a profit to run their businesses however taking advantage of people using their kids to do it is just plain discusting. What I mean is, they can charge what they want because you have to pass by the rides to get around town for the most part, and you aren't going to tell your child no, when they see all their friends being involved. Three or more dollars a ride is highway robbery, when a theme park with roller coasters charge that. Wrist bands are the better way to go but if you have 3 kids there goes 150.00 off the bat...then another 150.00 on the food for three days or the toys you see all up and down the street. I like the rides, the food, the vendors......but I also like to survive after the hamfest is over (financially). I really hope next year will be a lot different, and offer more things (like the cake walk, square dance, maybe more family oriented booths, parade....and a lot less expensive voyage all the way around) I will diff. find a way to scout it out next year before the kids see. If it is this expensive next year, I will prob. take the kids to the lodge to swim (25 bucks a day) and sonic after wards, or to the zoo (100.00 and a time they'll never forget). Anyways that is all I have to comment.

as a very educated person on extremely meager means at the moment, I have been going to the Ham Fest for a long time now. I have to say, my family and I very mush do miss the parade and some of the traditional festival options that have been done away with.
However, I cannot bash the whole festival or fault the people there who come and are trying to make a living. The vendors for example have to pay a fee every week they set up whether they make money that location or not. You are going to pay a novelty fee, as if your were at Gatlinburg or elsewhere. As far as the ride prices go, the mega passes were really an economical deal for our family. It has been something announced yearly, now so we plan for it and save for it. You ride on one bracelet the whole festival. Or buy the one the other day for twenty. I guess for people that don't get to see how life outside of Cadiz works or how economics works may not understand it but, really it is not different than going to the movies now. The economy sucks, no one is making money, we have nothing to back the paper being printed but we are printing and circulating it, lending out money to foreign agencies and then borrowing what we need. We are sending our jobs oversees, making machines do laborer's work therefore decreasing man-powered jobs, which is driving up inflation causing everything to be more expensive, fuel, electricity, rent,........ If you want to have a voice, be educated, make a change, be informed and be counted. Vote in this election. The legacy you leave behind depends on you.9607

Hamfest is what is because of who coordinates it
Most of these people ran the complex also. When they left complex board look how much better it got. Same here prices are out of control and if new faces don't get in all we have left will be the baking of the biscuit.

Using words like "orda", which isn't even a word by the way, is why people talk about Cadiz and its residents like they do. Just sayin'
