If they are "all Jesus", neither could be the "head" of the other, because there wouldn't BE an "other" to be head OVER....
Freedom!
Your churches teachings make me whacky...:)

if its winning another soul for God....or teaching bible studies...bringing a new friend to church....there are many churches that is all about i love you and you love me were a happy faimly and that is it we just take in all of the knowledge and hide it under a bushel...we must be challenged and not get used to the same old thing over and over again....
Flower didn't Jesus tell us that the most important thing was love? I think that the love we demonstrate will come more to revealing our good news than anything don't you think? Actions speak much louder than words.

And I think what Katherine is trying to express (Katherine not meaning to speak for you) is yes, as you say, we must challenge ourselves. That challenge means reading the Word in a new way, without the traditions of man. In other words, intrepreting the Word yourself instead of intrepreting it the way some preacher tells you to.

Flower,
By your statement that we must not get used to the same old thing over and over again. Make me kind of nervous. thank you very much but I will stick to the same old scriptures. I'm very comfortable in the nest of God's word. We don't need "NEW" interpretations of Scripture.
"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Tim. 3:16-17 NIV).
You are right we should stick to what the old interpretations that is exactly what i am saying
there are new interpretations of the bible that are changing the meaning of the words....not all of them but enough to where the understanding is not the same on some scripture...and as you know a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump...that is exactly what I am saying...thank you.....

and as for the same thing over and over i am talking about what we are doing for God....

for the more knowledge that we receive the more that is required of us..... we are to do for God whatever else He gives to us......

we are to be challenged everyday and fired up everyday for what we are to do for God....

Im sorry I cant interpret the scriptures myself or i would be really confused....the interpretation must come from the Holy Ghost...not from myself...

The Holy Ghost must guide us and show us what we are to do......that is why our prayer is just as important as the Word of God....

If we are doing more with one than the other that is when things began to be interpreted wrong...

the Holy Ghost is what should guide us to all truth and He will if we allow Him to.....

Love is not all that is going to take us with Christ it is also obedience to the Word of God....
but we cant just pick and chose what we want to and just let everything else go...and say that is not for me....

Flower, if you remember my passage that I have been hounding you for days now....come on, you can't have forgotten it. It's the one that says "No one knows the hour, not the Angels, not the Son, but the Father ONLY".
You still have not held this passage in your hand and looked at it. It says that One knows the hour WHILE the other does not, AT THE SAME TIME.
The way to deal with a passage like this is not to avoid it and talk about OTHER passages that seem to show your point of view, but that's what you keep doing... Why?

Flower?

The Father and the Holy Ghost are eternal..Jesus incarnate was not....there was a beginning and an ending with Jesus when He was born when He died in the flesh.....the Father and the Holy Ghost are One Spirit and are eternal......

the flesh didnt know because no flesh knows what is the future ...only the Spirit knows........

Flower, can you please go back and read my posts from 1500-1502, and respond. You have yet to deal with the passage I have been posting for weeks. If you don't know how to respond-that is fine, but please just be honest with it. Thanks :)

So there are indeed "Three" and not just One.
Thanks for the response, Flower

Flower, so true, I totally agree. I didn't go into my views earlier about the Holy Ghost(HG) because quite frankly I thought, if you were c of c, it would scare you off. Because when I was in the c of c the HG was never really referenced, in fact members seemed uncomfortable about the HG. I don't really remember it being mentioned much except at my baptism. Since I am now not c of c and of another faith, the HG is emphasized and I have only now learned to rely upon it in my new reading of the scripture. It makes all the difference in the world. It has eliminated my confusion. I have since learned about something called a "spiritual" reading of the Word.

Definitely.
Many can quote the words themselves, but have no clue to their MEANING.
The Pharisees were that way...stuck on the Letter of the law that kills, and unfamiliar with the spirit of the law that gives life.

And look how it works them in a corner. None who spouted scripture to me about the "proper" role of women have gotten back to be to either: explain why they are violating scripture by allowing their women to cut their hair and not cover their head, OR to tell me that indeed their c of c requires that. You can not have the truth without honesty.

When these men are backed into a corner where they have no answers, many of them vanish.

Only to reappear much later as if nothing has happened.
Total memory lapse.
No conscience left.

You forgot to say that they vanish and reappear and start the same debate all over again. Ending up in the same outcome and the process is started all over again. They never admit that they may of been mistaken. They will sit and wait for the next victim to ask the same question so they can attack.
Here is the scripture for this posts since Shawn seem to like it when there is a verse attached.
1Peter 5:8

Katherine and Gail,
at least when folks like us have asked questions, we stick around to discuss it, having no fear, because the Lion of Judah is within us.
But so many of these CofC guys simply take a potshot and leave, not able to stick around and give a reasonable answer for their faith, because they HAVE no Lion of Judah within them.
Very few of them can discuss these matters unto completion.

Good observation, Sam.
I've seen this a lot as well. They absorb nothing outside of their "box", and only can "sit and wait for the next victim to ask the same question so they can attack" again.

What they can absorb is limited by the BORG.
Ah, the power of their denomination...
