Little League Sports in Cabot...

I am so fed up with organized sports in Cabot, Arkansas! If anyone is moving here, please do not put your child through this mess! Football and baseball in particular is of great mention. Most of the main "teams" coaches are on the boards or affiliated in some manner. They lock there teams with the same kids year after year, and make fun of any new coaches who start a team and draft our kids for the love of the game! It's not about having fun, it's about totally devestating other teams and dashing kids hopes. It's so sad to see these kids get stomped and never win games. To make matters worse, the ump's and ref's favor the board member's teams and make ridiculous calls just to ensure their win.
It's a waste of time money and will kill a kid's self esteem. Let's just hope that junior high and high school aren't quite this stupid.

Joe , i can only think of 2 things:

1. You get a team together , of good kids that want to play with their hearts in an absolute "Love for the Game". You teach and instill in them , that the negative you see in the local games is NOT the way to go, and you give them related "Values" they can take with them for life.

2. You get a team together - boys , girls , handicapped, bad rep kids , etc. You draft some great whiz playing kids , or ones with potential (remember - all for the love of the game mind you, LoL!), and with positive coaching skills , you make them into little "Monster Machine" players (again...all for the love of the game of course). THEN , you go out and whip the stuffing out of those other snickering coaches teams, and make the umps and refs undeniably shut their mouths! Every time you win , you take your well earned right and make a statement about the good of the game , and how THAT always trumps all the negative aspects of what has gone wrong. My own personal touch has me turning to walk away after my speech , but stopping to turn back towards the other coaches and refs , umps , etc. with a "Oh...and by the way,...IN YO FACE!!!...um, of course...for the love of the game that is..". Course , i don't expect anyone to do that , BUT you CAN do everything else i suggested. So.. I guess all i'm really saying to ya, is that i agree with you. LoL! Before you ask ,..NO! I won't asst. Coach with you,..ok maybe i would , BUT.. it's going to mean a team of well practiced and Hot (..as in SKILL) playing kids ,..all with Tourettes Syndrome. Serious! I'm not making fun of Tourettes kids, i'm just prone to unorthodox ways to shake up the game , that's all. LoL!
