medford trucking is a joke the boss on nights is pill head and he has that name for a reason he takes hands ful of pills every day and even carrys a gun on mine property , over haalf the drivers take pain meds and xanax but thats ok but a friend of mine got fired because he takes lyrica witch is not anything to get high on so he files a law suit on them and ( fact) pill head has his group that he tells to speed to get their loads and if they get busted he will take care of it. one driver dusty is on crack and they know but still let him drive everyday.. something needs to be done . i for one am going to court with the gut they fired because ive seen the so call boss aka drunk pill head eat pills to the point that he cant even talk. and my friend has statements from 15 other drivers so i think he will win his case. so you have been warned most of there drivers are on drugs so keep your family safe and stay off the road.. jus saying..
My husband was not crazy about company
policy that is why he quit.

Amazed I just had to comment on your post.
My husband drove for Medford for a short time.
What gets me is what you wrote. My husband says
that EVERY DAY. He does not drive up Cabin Creek
anymore but from Powellton to the docks.
He complains about the Exact same things everyday.
Ppl pulling out in front of him and expecting
him to be able to stop. Pulling out in front of him
only to stop a mile down the road.
Dogs in the road and worse kids in or on the edge of
the road.
Those trucks don't stop on a dime.
The funny part is he took me on a trip to Pineville
to pick up a load of coal last week. And damned if he
wasn't right. Ppl pulling out in front of him many times.
Some only to go a mile and pull off.
Ppl stopping dead in front of him suddenly to pick
up a hitchhiker. It was crazy.
I was cussing the whole way and he just said...Yeah,
that is what I deal with everyday.
Someone is going to get killed that way.
And believe it or not ppl a truck drivers worse
fear is hurting someone.
I know drivers who quit and couldn't drive anymore
because of an accident.
If everyone could understand, be courteous, and
work together we could try to keep anyone from
getting hurt or, god forbid, killed.
Dumb asses that pull out in front of a coal truck are just looking for a fast buck. But they are to stupid to see that getting hit by one won't just injure you put more than likely kill you.

medford trucking is a terrible company. I drove for them for almost a year, and don't know how I put up with all the BS for that long. the owners only seem to care about money. period. they don't care about safety, or their drivers. just the almighty dollar. most of their equipment would be put out of service if thoroughly inspected for safety issues. they constantly cut corners on maintenance and repairs, and send unsafe trucks down the road every day just to save a buck. most of their drivers (not all) don't care about safety either. many of them speed up and down the road like suicidal maniacs gut wrenching, and tearing the crap out of their trucks because god forbid they don't get 4 or 5 loads even when conditions are bad. the bosses even encourage this behavior, again because of the almighty dollar. I've seen plenty of them speed excessively, run stop signs and traffic lights, and ignore the brake check at the top of the hill so they can brag about how many loads they get while not giving a damn about safety, or the other people they share the road with. bottom line, medford is a unsafe company, with unsafe drivers in unsafe trucks driving in dangerous conditions. watch out for them. they are just another accident waiting to happen.

And the company will replace and or
fix any damage.
But why do you call them scabs?
Truck companies are not responsible for damage to other cars from rocks, etc coming off their trailers. And I'm sure the scab comment is because they are non-union. That's what scabs are...

There may be more to these cases than ppl know.
I would wait for a verdict or for them to settle out of court to get all the facts.
Yeah there is so much more to this case than anyone knows!! That's why the judge had to ORDER Medford Trucking & Alpha Resources to turn over the contract to see what Medford Trucking was really being paid as the company wouldn't voluntarily turn it over. Just hope your hubby wasn't one of the ones that the Medford's stole hard earned dollars from!

I don't know about y'all but I'm tired of the Medford trucks speeding up cabin creek on these slick roads. I almost got hit by one that was taking up both lanes. How many wrecks has Medford had In the past 6 months anyway? I think something should be done immediately.
and the cars should slow down as well before passing judgment and stop pulling out infront of the trucks

i drove coal trucks for several years. i never drove for medford ONLY because i wouldnt. i know alot of drivers that drove for medford and ALL of them hated it. johnny clark doesnt own medford, but some owners do run under the medford name and give the medfords a cut. i know the medfords do run dangerous trucks. just yesterday i saw one that had a fender held together with mine belt, and because the law says if its on the truck it hasta work, they took the headlight out of the truck.if people have a problem with coal trucks, all that ya hafta do is call 1-800-see-trux everyday until the d.o.t. starts swarming the area that is a problem. ive driven cabin creek for years and i can tell you that alot of trucks speed. the only way to fix the problem is for the companies to pay by the hour instead of percentage.

Chunks of coal rock shouldn't be falling off the
trucks on the road b/c the beds have covers.

I've never known a company that wouldn't pay for
any damage caused by their trucks. As long as the
person had the truck # and the company could confirm
that that particular truck was running in that
area.

And scabs are ppl that take the jobs of union workers
while they are out on strike....at least that was
how it's always been.

i can tell you that a few years ago my wifes vehicle got hit by coal falling off a truck going the opposite direction. i called the owner and he didnt wanna pay for it until i told him id call the d.o.t. everyday to come to our area until he did, so he started seeing things my way. arctic i know you seem to think ya know whats goin on but ya dont. you can sit at slaughters creek and watch truck after truck after truck come out without their tarp covering their load. the tarps are automatic so its due to nothin but pure laziness on the drivers part. not the company, not the trucking company, the driver.

My husband has been hauling coal for more that
20 yrs so I have some idea what I'm talking
about.

If they don't have their
tarps on call the d.o.t.
If they are speeding call the d.o.t.

If they are breaking the law call
the d.o.t.

They'll stop...
