It's been a long two weeks for New York's new governor. He took over after a scandal by his predecessor only to find himself answering questions about everything from drug use to infidelity.

It seems our new governor wants to set the record straight from the very beginning, letting one and all know that he is just as trashy (adulterer, illegal drug user, etc.) as the last one!!!

He is both severely visually and morally impaired!!!

I'm starting to think the same thing. Why in the world is he telling us all this? In case the media finds out first? Can't "we the people" do something about this and demand a vote on a new govenor? So far all he's talked about is himself. What in the world is he going to do for this State? Scarey isn't it?

Well Shelly I just think he's trying to start with clean slate. He's trying to be honest from the git go. Once he gets everything out in the open, we'll see what he is really made of.. Lets not judge to quickly.

News Media forgot some questions.

Did you ever rob banks?
Did you ever mug anyone?
How many people have you killed?

And lastly...

Have we interfered with you long enough because we are actually trying to mess with your mind so you won't have the State budget out on time, again?

What we have done in the past reflects upon our future actions as leaders and the judgement we will use in those duties which we will be charged to do for the people we are elected to represent. I believe without a doubt that the current Governor and those he appoints should be watched closely because once a criminal always a criminal. Governor Spitzer did far less in breaking the law than the current Governor has done or probably will do. Something is wrong in this picture. Multiple criminal actions are not something a Governor of our state should have in his past. This is in fact reason for dismissal and removal from office because the people of New York deserve better.

What do you mean about judging too quickly?
The last guy would have been lynched if he didn't resign. What's next? "I murdered someone when I was in my teens. But that was a long time ago!"
He should be treated like anyone else in that position.
I agree with one of the previous posters. I wish there was a way to say "We don't want this guy either!" We should be allowed a new election!

People get a life, are you perfect don't think so I know a lot of people that did drugs when they were younger. We were all young once and made mistakes but thats why you learn when you get older because you learn from you mistakes.Give the guy a break. Just because the news has nothing else to do. The first time there was a typo, the second time I forgot to change it (long day at work, late and all, but you probably wouldn't know, as you are probably a welfare free-loader), and the final post was exactly how I wanted it. Go back to school, moron; that is a complete sentence, followed by a question mark! You see, Topix doesn't allow editing of posts. Apparently you have never noticed, since you didn't even bother to capitalize the first word in your first sentence!!! As to my name, at least I registered; however, you are so cowardly, lazy, and stupid you couldn't even register with Topix, so I never know who is posting under your name, or even if you are truly responding!!! Go ahead, have another beer, and destroy the few remaining brain cells you have!!!

New York is going to have to pay a former state photographer(white) who was fired by Paterson so a black photographer could have the job with a $12,000 raise. The white man sued, the suit upheld, now it is going to a higher court. Paterson is a political hack, who has so far done nothing but elaborate on his failings. Paterson is a lame 'dud' already, he will never serve another term

As far as I can tell, he hasn't come out with these things on his own initiative, he's been asked them by the prying media and he has responded honestly. What is he supposed to say when questioned, "No comment"? If he did that it would raise everyone's suspicion and it would be a real witch hunt. Like I said on an earlier thread, if he hasn't done anything that he could still be charged with and if he is not presently involved in inapproriate behavior for his office, then leave him alone.

So Patterson is very honest with his answers. Had affairs (many), did drugs, including Cocaine but his honesty is going to make him a good Governor?
Did he ever hold up a grocery store, beat up another individual. Doesn't matter right. It was in his past. Get real people. The things you do in life you must be held accountable for in the future. I can honestly state that 95% of the people I associated with when I was younger did not do drugs BECAUSE IT WAS ILLEGAL. This is not the person that should be leading our state. We do deserve to have a say. What guarantee do we have that he doesn't now do drugs or won't in the future. This is a sad state of affairs.

Thank you! My thoughts exactly! Who cares what the guy did 20-something years ago?(And to an earlier poster, smoking marijuana at 20 is a BIG difference from killing someone, as you used as an example.) I did things at 20 I would never dream of doing now that I'm in my 40's, and I would bet that the majority of people would say the same if they were honest about it. Most of us are very different people at 20 than we are at 40, 50 and 60! That's what growing up and maturing is all about.

I think you need to stop bugging the new Govenor about trying drugs when he was in his early twenties. I'm not saying trying drugs is a good thing but hey 1/2 the country elected a President that used cocane and drank. Show me one polication that is lily white cause it's not going to happen. There are more important things to be concerned with in our state and country.
