Rockford man dies after being Tasered

Winnebago County authorities have identified a Rockford man who died while in police custody as 29-year-old Ernest Graves.

Many people reading this article will make some assumptions about the combination of drugs and tasers that simply cannot be supported by Taser International. Although 'drugs in the system' seems to offer an 'out' for Taser, it's a "50% Off Sale" (liability-wise) of which Taser simply cannot afford to take advantage. Reason being is that drug users will obviously make up a large part of the population that come into contact with taser-weilding police on a daily basis. So if tasers are not safe for drug users, then they are not safe period. Just keep this in mind before jumping to conclusions about the combination of tasers and drugs and how it might affect the risks. And so far as I know, Taser has admitted no internal risk mechanism what-so-ever.
