Mike you are exactly right about about the liability. Majority of the times dogs are pretty smart about what they are doing. German Shepards expecially. My friend has a german shepard and that is my "walk buddy" I feel very safe when I am with him. Even though he is basically a big baby, but I think if he needed to he would protect me just like yours did. I bet the police would have given him a big treat if they could have got there sooner and your dog still had the suspect.

I just moved into this area and I was coming home from work and was turned around by the cops not once but twice going to another street to go home. By then I was freaking out about what was going on.
It sure is sad people are resorting to all this crime to "solve" there problems when all its doing is making it worse for all of us including them.
I hope they find a good description of the vehicle and of the people bc I feel this community is strong enough to catch the bastards.

I called my dog off before the police caught up with the suspect. By the time they arrived the guy had ran off. I didn't know he was a suspect until after the fact.
So do you have more of a description of the suspect? age?

when you own a dog that has the capability off hurting a person, you have liability to think about. I didn't want her to hurt or maim him without knowing a really good reason for doing so. She kept him at bay, "away from me" which in my eyes was what she was supposed to do.
Okay you got me on that and you are absolutely right. Your dog took care of you, it is just too bad the "suspect" got away. Good puppy dog.

It was pretty dark.. he was in his late teens, maybe twenties, about six foot, thin, maybe 150lbs at best, short black hair, and he was of African American descent. I couldn't see well enough to give you any distinguishing marks or eye color etc.

Ya got a good dog, Ya did OK. What happened to the shots that cops fired? Thought there were trained marksmen. Seems someone should return to the range. If ya pull the gun ya mean to dust someone. Why miss. Buck fever, loud noise, too far?

Not to worry the two suspects have had almost enough time to get home to Mexico.

Holan, have you ever heard of root cause analysis? If the robberies never occured, there would be no need for these manhunts. Easy to point the finger, but if the economy was better, if we did a better job educating and looking after our youth, if we took better care of the veterans returning from Iraq, etc. these types of crimes would not occur at the rate that they are occuring. Just ask yourself who voted for the people that created this mess in the first place. Let's stop beind devisive and find a solution.

Thank the liberals for the wave of crime.
They have no balls and don't hold criminals accountable.
the police cant even put a description of the crooks, it might offend someone, and it does, it offends the criminals.

FYI WWMT Channel 3 story reports that the suspects are LATINOS with blue bandanas. Why does WZZM leave this out? This NEWS! I am sick and frikkin tired of the media holding back facts that the public should know. Who the heck am I supposed to look out for to report if I don't have a subscription. WZZM is the WORST. Sorry.

Two Latino men wearing blue bandanas fled the scene and then ditched their car at the Arbor Lake Apartments, which is located on Byron Center just south of 28th Street.

From WWMT, apparently a real news organization

I agree. Having 3 "big" girls myself. They are mixed breed dogs, but they are protective of me and my children. I can appreciate how well you sleep at night having that kind of protection!
