I think this was great chance to make people see that living beyond your means in this economy, does actually end in REPO. Miedema's is a great place to get good deals and they all work hard!

I think Mr Mediema was tastfull in saying a lot of his business is not from people living beyond their means, people's means have been changed drastically for a lot of people here in Michigan. We are victoms of Michigan.

Miedema's do put forth a lot of energy, yet remember... this is an auction where one may be bidding against the owner of the item. In my opinion, this is just somewhat wrong. Simply put, it is not in the "spirit" of a "True auction". But, to each his own I suppose.

Auction stupidity at its finest?

Last year we donated (as usual) some items to the Salvation Army in Holland. A week later one of the items I wished I had kept (goofy sentimental value) was for sale on Miedemas auction. It sold for much more than I thought it was monetarily worth. 2 weeks later it was on another local auction at what I considered a bargain price. So of course, I bought it. I think I got a heck of a deal too... even though my wife may not agree. Something tells me it will be in our yard sale this summer.

How true. A friend of mine does this too and he says the same thing.

I find the stuff from Miedema, repobid and their other companies is a bunch of junk. They don't tell you much about the item in the auction and when you go to pick it up, it's sitting outside in the rain and weather. People over pay for the junk.
