Full story: WZZM Grand Rapids

It may be tough economic times for some in West Michigan, but for one local business it couldn't be better.

It sounds like many of the repos are the end of someone's dream to own his own business. I wonder how many of them are due to the new BMT that was implemented with the last budget?

I agree - wzzm is losing I mean has lost its moral values. Once lee retires i will probably quit watching wzzm altogether it has gone downhill quick. especially that trashy desperate housewive show. That should be banned - children dont need to be watching that smut. No wonder we have housewives going off the deep end with trash like that on TV.

Well since it is on at 9pm, your children should be in bed or getting ready to be. Just take a look at other tv stations, there arent any cartoons on after 9 except if you can afford digital where the channels run all night.

I feel sorry for people who had to walk away from stuff because their dream fell through for whatever reason. However, when I read the story in the GR Press, the repo man mentioned at least one guy who has lost a large boat to him about 4 times. I have no sympathy for that guy.

Free advertising courtesy of WZZM. Rarely does one get a "bargain" @ Miedema's. Much is consignment, not just repo. Also, the consigning owner or financial institution is entitled to bid on their own items. Not a "True Auction" per se.

I agree-we own a small Auto Repair Shop and I am not sure for how much longer between taxes and people not having money to even fix what they have.

as sad as it is, someone has to sell the items that are taken, and face it, no one forced the people to borrow the money, and if you cant pay it, it is a moral obligation to give it back. Why do we think our interest rates and bank fees are so high?
As far as the auction not being real over there, they have explained it clearly on the website and I see tons of deals there, and its clear that some are subject to confirmation, its not hidden. most of it just sells to high bidder. 1800lastbid.com is the site

I really enjoy going to the website and the online auction. It is sad the economy is the way it is, but it is a great way to save money in these tough times.

I don't like seeing anyone lose anything, I thank god that everything we have is bought and paid for, but when everything you have is bought on credit, I'm talking big ticket items like cars, boats, motorcycles, and snowmobiles, and you were one of million or so idiots who refinanced your home to buy this stuff, and/or owe big time on credit cards, then you were living well beyond your means. No sympathy here

Why are you busting on someone that is making money doing a service that society dictates? They didnt create the issue but offer a good solution to the problem of people not fulfilling their obligations they committed to. Dont be a hater...
It appears to me from the story they do have sympathy.
