just wondering ..how can a little town like celina managed to aquire over 1 million dollars (as did overton county) to further educate students and byrdstown barely got enough to pay the utilities for graduation night? the surrounding schools must have someone that is working for the benifit of their students.

Yep it depends on how hard school officials are willing to work for the kids. Even Albany racked up big money. Giving a kid 500 bucks won't even cover book costs one semester.

The guidance counselor can directly help the students get more scholarship money by getting applications, getting on the phone to businesses and colleges, and doing it before a student is a senior. The counselor should talk with the students frequently to educate them on the process.
The counselor can make a huge difference in the amount the senior class gets in scholarship money.
