Topix Erased - How does it happen?

Just wondering who has the authority to erase certain comments on here. Don't get me wrong, some of the stuff on here is down right mean and some is stupid (Toby) but it seems like more and more are getting erased. Does anyone know why this is being done and who is doing it?

Actually, you can contact the topix website and have stuff erased. If a post names you, you can have that erased. That is why the topic of VEC, a comment about the Horsemen's Association fund, the Bobcat Den and Dixie are gone. I agree the Bobcat Den and Dixie post were unnecessary and stupid on the post of the people posting that mess. But, on the other hand, a VEC employee is using a company truck for personal use and using his school board position to get his personal stuff worked on at the school garage. The former Treasurer of the Horsemen't Association refused to account for almost 5 thousand dollars. I could understand these two being erased because someone is doing something crooked and they don't want the people of the county to know about it. What do you think?

I totally agree - I think alot of people that are doing something "shady" don't want to go to town and people say - oh I read about you on topix is this stuff I'm reading true. Alot of the county business such as the county and city mayors and the county commissioners is very informative to people such as myself that work out of town. I really like to read the political stuff but the other "junk" I don't even click on it doesn't interest me. I guess every good thing must come to an end. Also just wondering if the drug bust had anything to do with all the comments on topix?

I know the Sheriff's Dept. reads this stuff. So, maybe it did because some of the people arrested were mentioned on topix. I think the Sheriff's department is doing a good job. I don't mind if they had to buy new cars. I don't like a couple of county commissioners and Stephen Bilbrey trying to blame the budget problems on the Sheriff's department and the Highway Department. You can't be in charge for six years and not take the blame for over spending on your pet project and then when other departments need something blame them. Thats not good government. Just watch, something is cooking with the big three on the commission. They are about to spend some money that right now they supposedly don't have. They couldn't buy a fire truck but just watch what happens. If you want to see them pad the pockets of a buddy just wait and watch.
