the food is good the service is great but the prices are ridiculous, oh yea and the tips the girls get are taken out of their wages, so why even tip if its not really putting extra money in their pocket. the only thing tips help is the owner, cause thats less that comes outta her pocket, so sad it has to be like this. why wont the owner let the girls keep their own tips and still pay them hourly. Tips are given for a job well done, not to help the business pay hourly wages

I used to work there and what you are saying is just not true. The carhops are payed an hourly wage plus tips just like at any other restaurant. Each person keeps their own tips from the people they wait on. All of the other workers also make an hourly wage. I hate to see you all running Sue down on here, she is one of the nicest most giving people I have ever met.

When I worked there, I served in all three of those positions. My hourly wage when working as a carhop was $4.00 per hour ( much higher than a tipped server is required) so if I worked 5 hours and made 33.00 in tips I took home $53.00 minus withholdings, which since I did keep the books I could figure the withholdings for you if you want, When I worked as a cook I was paid $6.00 per hour again minus withholdings. This was 2 years ago so it was well within the minimum wage. And finally when I was keeping books I did not ask for pay because I felt I owed it to Sue for everything she has done for me. No I do not work there now, but I am as well versed in company policy as I was then. I talk to Sue every day and remain in close contact with the business. The only reason the carhops ever have to think about a minimum wage is if they don't make enough tips to reach minimum wage with their hourly wage + tips. In that case they have an added bonus on their paychecks which ensures that they are making at least minimum wage. If you will check around I don't think many restaurant offer their waitresses the option to get paid more if you don't make enough in tips. Most places pay straght $2.15 -$4.25 per hour and don't care if you make enough to make ends meet.

I quit because I also had another job, had a child and just didn't have the extra time to work two jobs anymore. The people, customers and employees, were all wonderful. I still miss working there. As far as I know all of the places in town are great, I have never had any problems with any I have gone to. A good place to eat? I guess it depends on what type of food you are looking for. They all have different things on their menus, and they all must have some good qualities or they would not be in business in this economy.

I am a current worker at the friendly. I love my job there Sue is the best boss I ever had. I have no problems with my checks or my tips, sue pays us our minimum wage and we keep our tips because its hard earned money for us. And the prices are no different than any other restraunt here in byrdstown and the economy is doing horrible so we need the money to even stay open. And for you other people who are talking bad about about are paychecks how would you even know? You don't work there. So get your stories straight before you go and talk about thing you have no clue about.

nice folks there but damn you could go eat somewhere nice in cookeville for what you pay for a meal at the Friendly. They will price themselves ou of business if theyre not careful.

I guess its good they are closed 6 months of the year....it gives you time to save up for a burger and an order of fries.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Libra

If you live with other people you have to resign yourself to the fact that you all want to do different things today. The more you urge togetherness, the more everyone will be determined under tonight's Full Moon to do their own thing even if it creates problems. Try to play this down as much as possible because it's also a lunar eclipse and getting angry won't solve anything; it may even make the situation worse. Maybe this is a chance for you to do what you want for a change, too? Anyway, enjoy yourself tonight, Libra because you deserve it!
