I think that the Mayan calendar was very accurate, because it was based on repeated times, such as equinoxes and solstices. It's a great way to have a very accurate calendar.

It's a horrible way to predict the end of the world. The date that the Mayan calendar is supposed to end is the winter solstice of 2012. This is because of a supposed alignment of the earth and the Milky Way. However, according to modern cosmologists, that alignment already happened in 1997. The Mayans were 15 years off (which isn't bad considering they didn't have computers or E=mc2 to calculate red shift distance, and they were calculating over 500 years in the future!). This event in 2012: it already happened! 1997 was actually a good year for me.

As far as 2012, however, don't worry about it. I would take much more heed to Jesus' words. They have a better track record

the bible also says, the world will not end until, " there is but one race." according to that we got a little ways to go.

I am not worried about the end of the world whether it's 2012 or any other year.....as long as you are where you need to be with God then you have nothing to worrie about.God promises us eternal life and I cant wait until that day comes and I get to see his face and the loved ones that I have missed.Life is hard but God never said that it would'nt be.....I have lost alot in my life but I truely believe that when you're down to nothin God is up to somethin!
