Those of you who have children know how they can be at age 1, they test your patients especially in public places. Embarrass you in front of a big crowd and even tho you try in the politest way to calm them down or get on to them w/o people assuming your abusing your child theres not much you can do with a 1yr old right? Their exploring their vocals testing you and being...... a kid! Well if you ever decided to go out to eat and want a atmosphere that will accept and knowledge that it is a 1yr old and that being a owner of a restaurant thats somethings you have to consider and think about before opening a public RESTAURANT then don't take your family to Hill Billy Cabin because the owner will come up to you so disrespectful saying your child is a bother in our restaurant and he is being too loud so pretty much what i am saying is leave! Needless to say my sister and I will not be taking our service their ever again with the way they treated us and our 1yr olds! at Hillbilly's Cabin Restaurant

I have always said if I ever opened a restaurant I would not allow children. As a business owner it would be my chose to do so. I, of course, wouldn't open up a greasy spoon like Hillbilly Cabin but a nice, romantic, upscale restaurant which is lacking in Morristown.

I am a Mother myself, to 3 great kids, but I also know how kids can be in public places. Mine showed their butts a few times in public and that is when my husband and I decided to let eating out be a treat for me and when we did that, the tantrums ceased and all was well.

Kids can be a distraction when trying to have a nice dinner.

What exactly was your child doing? I have 3 kids, and I know that they tend to act up sometimes. But if it gets so out of hand that it's distracting other customers, then YOU need to step in before the owner has to. There are other paying customers there besides you who probably don't enjoy seeing or hearing a disruptive child. Believe it or not, strangers do not find it "cute" when your child is tired, grouchy, loud or acting up. I've seen parents turn their small children loose in a public place to run wild and raise hell, and they weren't considerate enough to think twice about others trying to enjoy their meal. That's why my husband and I go thru a fast food drive thru if our kids are with us. We've also walked out of restaurants when our children were being disruptive. My point is....have common sense, do the right thing, and consider others and no one else will ever have to step in.

We have 3 small children and we have eaten at both hillbilly cabins and have NEVER been told we were disruptive. Not to say this didn't happen to you but we haven't experienced that. My children do all the "normal" things kids do. We are mindful that not all people enjoy children's antics so we usually try to ask not to be seated by a single person, or couples without kids if we can. There are times we go places and it's not busy and empty and if a person decides to take the chance and sit right next to us then I don't feel so bad for them sometimes! Children will be children but being completely unruly isn't acceptable either.

If the children are unruly and as disruptive as it sounds, then the PARENTS need to do something about it before the owner of the establishment needs to. Parents should not ALLOW their children to be so siruptive that it disturbs other patrons of the establishment. If the children act this way in public, it means it has happened before and the children feel they can get away with it by the PARENTS. The PARENTS need to make it clear with some form of discipline, rules and manner-teaching to show the children there is ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR and the UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR has consequences.

I agree sounds like your kid was out of hand, and he called you out for not claming it down. Kids act how they are allowed to act! And yes I am a father of 3 boys! Bet your ass I never got threw out of anywhere.

I love parents who blame their annoying, whiny kids behavior on someone else. You have a child who is a little younger than 2 and he cried because it took them to long to get your food out? Really? Your child is not even 2 yet and knows the concept of time? Smart kid ya got! If you are in a restaurant and the owners ask you to leave what are you going to do? Go ghetto on them and end up in jail for causing a disturbance. Way to be a good role model....lol

You dnt know jack about me do ya. Nope sure dont but i do know hes ready to eat by and we didnt get seated until about 6. Wow your real intelligent. Kids at that age sometimes cry for no reason at all and i'm a great mother. I dnt believe in violence but if someone was to say something to me i would say something.

I know you don't make a whole lot of sense. You know he was ready to eat by....???? What time would that be? You didn't get seated until about 6? If your child is used to eating at a certain time, shouldn't you have planned accordingly to ensure you were seated by that specific time?

Exactly! I must agree with you. Plus if my child was starving, I wouldn't go to a busy place to eat. I don't want my kids to be a bigger burden on the public than what's within my control. That's when you grab a happy meal and take it into the restaurant with you so your hungry child won't have to wait.

So you would turn to violence if your child was loud and unruly and someone confronted you about it? Lol Good for you!

I didnt say that there are ways to talk to people without being violent. Hes not even two there are alot of reason why kids that age cry. Teething or not feeling good. But thats not going to stop me from going out to eat when i do. My money is as good as anyone elses. One last thing im not going to feed my son mcdonalds. When we do go out tp eat and have to wait i usually have healthy snacks for him

Like I said before, I have raised 3 boys. So I do know what it is like for kids to cry when you are out somewhere. However I never one time let mine at any age brother other people while they where trying to eat. If your kid is upset and being loud, its your job to get up and take it to the restroom or out to the car! That one of the prices you pay while your kids are young. I have paid my dues and I don't want to sit and listen to your kid scream. More than once I have told someone to do something with their screaming kid! Like you said my money is just as good as yours, and I won't spend it listening to a kid scream. That probably goes for the other 100 people sitting there. And I never one time even thought the restaurant should treat me special or something because I had my kid with me. If you walk into a busy restaurant you are going to have to wait, just like everyone else!
