They are completely linked. Obamacare will in effect lower reimbursements to health care facilities, since it is clear that the government will decide how much those facilities make on a procedure. Which will result in what is happening here. And Obamacare will also be structured much like Medicaid, funded by tax dollars.

They claim tey will pay for it by eliminating waste and fraud in Medicare. Eliminate the waste and fraud. Democrats blocked that when that was tried. Now they claim they will do it if they can spend it and more on something else. Eliminate the waste and fraud because it is the right thing to do.

Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Frank, Rangel. What a bunch of frauds and crooks.

You forgot the worst run government healthcare plan, the VA. That makes the gov. 0-3 in successful healthcare plans.

Nearly 4% were rejected because they were noncovered services performed during a routine exam or screening. In 3.1% of the cases, Medicare said the expenses were incurred before the patient was covered — a pre-existing condition.

Other claims were denied because the patient wasn't covered by Medicare or couldn't be identified as a Medicare recipient, or there were paperwork problems."

OMG! Most of you look at a situation through such a small keyhole. First of all, the Mayo clinic is one of the most Expensive places to go! If you want government medical coverage like medicare or medicaid or(Obamacare), fine but don't expect the most expensive. Our Medicare and Medicaid is BLEEDING because of going to these very expensive health care facilities. If you want the best, keep and pay for your own damn healthcare insurance!!!!!!! Thats what it's all about!!!!! It's like sending your kids to public school, it good and they will get a good education or you can spend a lot more out your own pocket and go to a private school. I also GUARANTEE that Mayo would have to shut it's doors without all the Medicaid and Medicare patients they currently receive.

I wanted to judge it, but unfortunaly, they did not have moron as an option.
Medicade is funded by the taxpayer and is government run. Imagine when the government tries to run the entire medical system.

Please provide your source for the Mayo clinic being one of the most expensive places to go. It is not, it is less expensive than most, including Nebraska. Inexpensive and highest quality care, a good combination. The federal government just reimburses less to Minnesota hospitals than it does to East and West Coast ones.

I will await your link to a source showing how expensive Mayo clinic is, otherwise, a retraction is likely in order.

All your mumbo jumbo aside, how were these particular health care providers chosen for this article! I mean Medicare accounts for approximately 2/3 of the patients!!!! This article is written by some John Doe with an investment side of the pitch! Some of these health care providers offer many medicare supplement plans! So I don't know what this article is trying to tell me except that there are ALOT OF PEOPLE ON MEDICARE!!!!!!!!!

I've gotten pricing for multiple procedures for myself and my wife and they were always the highest. Shouldn't everyone call and get pricing for procedures or products? I do, don't you?
