I am considering moving to "Deer Lodge." Does anyone have any tips or advise? What is it like in "Warm Springs?" Is it a good place to live?

Well, that's really why I wondered. I have been a psychiatric tech. for 16 years and a prison gaurd for 6. I was looking there for the employment. Is there anything that does make it a good place to live?

We have also been thinking of moving to the area. Our families started 100 years ago in the area. I just have been in Deer Lodge 2 times in the last month. The cold will be a change for us. I am used to smaller deer to dodge. Great clothing stores for my wardobe, plenty of bars and eatery's. I actually met some guys that work at the golf course from MI. I am favoring Anaconda and my husband Deer Lodge Were gonna wait out for maybe spring if it works out.

I've lived in the Warm Springs/Deer Lodge area for five years. The State Hospital is here in Warm Springs and is the only State Mental Hospital and treats all types of mental disorders, not just the "criminally insane." If you enjoy hunting, fishing, camping and historic districts, it's a nice area. If you expect good shopping and varied dining opportunities, you've got a long drive (Missoula, Bozeman, or Helena).

I'm also interested in learning about John P. Cooney as I think he may be my uncle.
