Yeah! The Butler police did a great job in getting the murderer that killed Shawn !!!! Thank you for giving Shawn's mother the news she waited so long for. I know it won't bring her son back but she might feel alittle better knowing one bad guy is off the streets. More needs to be taken off the streets before more people get murdered. TOO many drugs in Butler!

Campbell is not and has never been from Pittsburgh. This crime is not Pittsburgh's "fault." Pittsburgh is a great town full of wonderful people who do not all use drugs and commit crimes and murders. The motive may technically appear to be robbery but in reality the motive is psyhological. Campbell fanticized about murdering someone execution style his whole life. His time in the Marine Corps did not fullfil his fantasy so he waited patiently until he thought he could get away with it. I would not be surprised if he has other victims which remain unknown. His main problem is that he is stupid; he always has been and always will be. Combine that with pathological pride and the results are fatal. I sincerely feel for Shawn's family. He did not deserve to have his chance to make things right taken away from him. Afterall, Campbell had his chance to do right. No one put a gun to the back of his head when he was shooting up as a juvenile. We all have choices and people do beat hardcore addictions without committing murder.

there is more than one person involed in this I think. And the one who pulled the trigger, already gets away with alot,I don't think it actually happened at the tattoo place, I think it happened elsewhere and was put there, drug deal or not, theres no reason this young kid had to die like that. They questioned the person but didn't arrest him?
Actually your right no one has to die like that, but I am the best friend of a 19 yr old girl/mother who died in the hands of this junkie in 2007 ad although it happened like this I'm sorry to say it was gonna happen sooner or later and sad thing is karma comes around, bc of him a mother lost her daughter, a son lost his mother, my daughter lost her aunt, and I lost my best friend/ sister so I think back to that everytime I see these comments about him and think if anyone only knew!!! It is out in the open now who did it and there is a reason for everything instead of people thinking about this junkie I wish they would know and think of the beautiful girl he let die 3 yrs ago!!

Do you really know that the girl died "in the hands of" this man? There are so many accusations, false statements and good/bad intents in these postings. I'm very sorry for you loss, I truly am. Anyone associated with drug abuse, is friends with users/dealers, etc. puts themselves in harms way. You just never know what might happen. The only hope we have is to try to erradicate the drugs and watch our children like hawks. Even that is no guarantee your child or relative wont be affected. God Bless all our loved ones affected by this horror.

I'm so sick of people being victims... 1st off I've never tried any drug that I knew was highly addictive (i've drank and smoked weed a few times when I was young)The other crap I knew what could happen if I tried it or even got on the junk. Point being YOU,THEY know what they're getting into when they say yes for the 1st time. People can't say it's lack of education on drugs, my kids go to butler city schools and they begin drug ed in 4th grade. therefore the only one to blame is the individual using and people need to begin to be accountable for thier own choices and know for every choice there is a consequence that must be pd good, bad,or indifferent!

Kevin Campbell was raised by a good Christian lady who did everything she could to give him a decent upbringing. He had his own bouts with drugs and other problems. He joined the military hoping for a clean start. It didn't work. I have no idea how he ended up this way. He had children & a mother. He was not from Pittsburgh or Philly. What he did was terrible. His victim is just that, a victim. Drug user or not. Pray for their families.

Just because someone claims to be a "Christian" now, doesn't mean they have been their whole life and unless you were in the home where Kevin was raised maybe you shouldn't talk about what you don't know. And unless he has told you "about his drug and other problems, why he joined/left the military, or how his life ended up" maybe you shouldn't claim to know. And I think everyone knows by now, he is not from Pittsburgh or Philly. I do agree however that everyone should pray for the families of both men.

Let the courtroom show the evidence and the truth. I believe a conviction WILL occur, I believe the suspect is guilty. I believe some people are born EVIL and that "the outsider" is probably his mommy. ;)

What I am going to say is that I was once a very good friend to Kevin Campbell! We went to church together every Sunday morning and Sunday evening! We even went to church every Wednesday evening! The crimes in which he committed is hideous....as a friend I believe that he did do the crimes! When he got out of corps...we would hang out and he would tell me about the brutality that he saw while stationed in turkey! I would see a total different side of him when we were not doing church activities! He would tell me that he knew how to kill a man with his bare hands in less than 5 seconds! I totally believe that he killed this person and serving only a life sentence is an injustice to Shawn's family! He should have received the death penalty!

I was around from the time he was out of boot camp and during his entire military career. He wasn't stationed in Turkey. He was doing a six month Mediterranean tour during the same time the Bosnia/Kosovo mass grave incidents occurred. He was only in Turkey for a few days to hand out food and water to children following an earthquake. What he saw was a third world country and its usual third world conditions which he had never seen before. He is a lier.

Just like they did me. They make you stone faced killer that fears nothing then tell you to then tell you to turn it off. I'm a vet and my son serves in the usmc. It is your job to be a soldier. You are not a stone faced killer. Your job, I repeat, your job is to defend this country from enemies inside and out. If you can't, then you should not sign up. The marines very clearly explain things to every recruit. There are no exceptions. They know what they are getting into. As an air force vet I was prepared and knew what was required, that regardless of my job I was first and foremost a soldier, period.

If you want job training go to vocational school.

That being said, however, this kid did not deserve to die. Bring the murders to justice. Do it the right way.

Funny?

I do understand the marines are devil dogs and very committed.

However my service in the air force is nothing to be laughed at.

I too defended freedom.
