I have six tattoos, my most recent two were done by Owen and I have to say that out of the four shops I have been tattooed in, East Side Tattoo is at the top of my list. I immediately felt comfortable with Owen, probably more comfortable than I was in the other shops. And I'm not bashing anyone either. All of my other tattoos are well done and were done by amazing artists(although I will say, they weren't done in Butler either lol). Anyway, Owen is one of the most professional artists I have ever had work done with and I will be returning soon. Oh and I refer him anytime someone asks, which is frequently because the tattoos he did are visible and I get complimented on a regular basis! And he is probably the only place in Butler that DOES charge fairly - REALLY! And anyone that actually did their homework before getting a tattoo would know this stuff before getting one done.
Now I'm ranting a little bit, but honestly, I would love to know where those of you complaining have gotten these tattoos that you are so thrilled with because there is no one else in Butler that does the quality of work Owen does.

I should correct that statement a little because there is one other artist that does AMAZING work, but you will be lucky to get him when he isn't high. Trust me, my sister has close to 15 tattoos all done in and around Butler-they aren't well done and she plans on having them ALL covered up. That's a whole other story, but it's really sad that the quality of tattooing in Butler is so terrible and even sadder that people have the nerve to bash one of the best artists we have.

I went to Owen for my first tattoo, and he was amazing! My daughter got her second one done by Owen on the same day. We had a friend come and check his work out at the same time we were getting ours and she has a few tattoos herself and she was very impressed with Owen. He was very professional and I would most definitely go back to him in a heartbeat. Oh, did I mention my friend made an appointment to get a tattoo done by him also and she loves it and is getting another by him in a week or two! Owen does awesome work and I cannot say enough good things about him!

I had been to Eastside Tattoo to get my belly button pierced, they were very clean and thorough. It was a straight forward request, so it didn't require much discussion. I was satisfied with their service.

However when I started looking at getting my tattoo done, I checked out multiple places including Eastside Tattoo. I went in person and as soon I had gotten a quote for my tattoo, I was immediately pressured into making a booking, despite me saying I still wanted to looked around. He talked bad abotu other businesses and I felt intimidated, until my father stepped in and said we would simply take our business elsewhere. Not impressed.

Especially when I went elsewhere, got the same tattoo done for half the price, by friendly, joking staff who even suggested possible ideas to enhance my tattoo design futher. They were just as clean, and I felt no pressure in having to book on first visit.

I also got a tattoo by Owe(July 2009). He commented on my body the entire time. I tried to get a specific tattoo and he changed it to something else, something that I don't like. And when I show it off, ppl ask why I have bruises all over my ribs, I have to tell them it's supposed to be the flight of the butterflies...they don't get it. He offered to fix it but because I refused to be more than friends(I was going through a divorce), I was afraid to go back and get it now I'm stuck with this permanent piece that isn't what I wanted...I even gave him a picture of what I wanted!

I forgot to add that when I refused to be friends he was so mean to me. He said mean things to me and really hurt my feelings. I truly tried to be friends with him and did nothing to lead him on, he knew where I was coming from but I was not at a place to start something. I never judge him for who he was or where he's been and he treated me like shit for not putting out and I ended up with a bad tattoo. And...he also, he bad-mouthed every other artist around to me as well

First, I have no tattoos so I cannot comment on Owen's work or anyone elses. I am just merely making a comment from what I read. It seems that the guys have no problem with Owen. So, at least he's not gay. Most of the females do have an issue about his behavior.

Owen, are you just a male pig that does not know how to treat women with respect?

To the women that have such a high opinion of him, are you ugly? Fat? Or a lesbian? Maybe to much McDonalds food for lunch' Too funny!!

maybe more like the fatties are the ones who are complaining because they DIDN'T get any attention or the Butler crack-ho's who were crushed because they flashed some cleavage hoping for some free tatt's and still had to pay. knowing the town- just sayin'

Waaaaaaaait a minute. KelliZ, I'm a nurse with a masters degree. I have a husband who is a doctor(now). I am not overweight nor did I care about whether or not I had to pay for my tattoo. I felt he was unprofessional. This forum is not for bashing clients it is for reporting good or bad experiences with East Side Tattoo.

PS...not from Butler
