I saw it too....and you are right, it was a sedan. I saw the aftermath of the accident. Earlier, I was behind a slow moving truck, and the driver of this car, a female, tried to pass both me and the truck on the right at a point where two lanes converge into one. Route 23 was a two lane road at that point. She only managed to pass me and got inbetween me and the truck. She flashed me the middle finger, to which i replied with the same, and then did it again. She then passed the truck on the left, going over a very wide yellow line with diagonal slants through it. This was on an "S" curve. I held my breath because God forbid anyone was in that middle area, she would have hit them head on, it was such a blind curve. For the next few miles, she would slow down, speed up, tailgate, and play games with other drivers. She was driving very erractically. In fact, I was trying to remember what the number was on the cell phone to report crazy drivers!

I pulled over on the center median to get gas at an EXXON, and lost her, kinda hoping i would catch back up with her as she was caught at a light. I was curious to see what she would do when i pulled up alongside of her. But it was too late. I got stuck in the traffic for the accident, within seeing distance, knew it was a bus, but could not see anything else. Funny thing was...I kept telling myself, "betcha it was that girl!"

Sure enough, it was the same car, they were already extracted and gone. The traffic just started moving when i got to the light, so I quickly called a fireman over, and told him about her erratic driving, to which his response was "well, not anymore!" and let me know they were ok.

It was plain stupidity on their part that they played games and risked so many lives. Not too sure if they got a ticket for reckless driving, but the reason I am online right now was to get the number of the butler PD to let them know as well that she was driving like a maniac.

Glad I finally found an article letting me know this moron is ok, hopefully this will be the end of her flipping people off after cutting them off, and trying to pass in illegal zones, risking so many lives.

Are you sure it was a girl driving? Malik is a boy not a girl. So please do not let the article sway you to think he was a girl.

Did you see the aftermath or the actual accident?

It was a guy driving...the police said the car was in the mother's name and that is why they printed a woman's name. I originally thought it was a guy, but the fireman told me it was two women. My apologies, i thought the fireman knew what he was talking about, but evidently he did not see the two people in the lexus or he would have known it was a male driving. This was confirmed by the police yesterday when i called them with what i knew. Also, the policeman who I spoke with said that others called about the erratic driving as well, so he faxed me a form to fill out regarding what i knew.

Again, my apologies, and I did not let the article sway me, the fireman did...I have had students by the name Malik and Malika, so I was not 100% sure...

Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate the comments that you and the other gentleman have posted. The passenger is my niece so we are all very concerned. We appreciate people filling in the blanks for us. I hope and pray that this is an eye opener that life is so precious. It can be taken away in an instant or your actions can take someone away from their loved ones. I am relieved to know that no one else was injured. From the statements that have been made this could have also been devastating for others and their families. God was definitely watching over the people that encountered the reckless driving and the two that were in the car. Please fill out that form so the police can have all the information they need. Thank you for all the information!!

I do hope your niece is fine and healing. I am so sorry she had to be a part of the hazardous driving. Let her know that my prayers are with her. But as for the guy? Well, it is a shame that he was so reckless and put her life in jeopardy. I hope he gets points, and she never gets in a car with him again!

Let this be a lesson learned. If she is ever in that situation again, get out and call for someone to get her. It is not worth your life! Dang, if he had dropped her off on the side of the road, I would have taken her where she needed to go! Anything to have spared her the fear she must have felt as they were about to hit, and the pain she had to endure!(Sorry, a mom of a 21 year old talking!)

My own 21 year old got into an accident on rt 23 right before 287, about a mile or so from where this accident took place. She hit a tree, and broke her arm. She was not driving, her friend was, but to this day, she continues to have pain...all because he was not paying attention and thought the side road was 287...again, lesson learned...best of luck to you and your family. I will be filling out that report and sending it in.
