Bulter BOE prepares its final numbers for a devastating budget
The news about the school budget figures was almost as shocking as the thunderstorm that echoed in the background of the Board of Education meeting on March 22, as the Butler School District prepares to exceed its cap to an 8.52 percent tax increase in an effort to salvage whata s left of its budget.

"..not heard back from the unionís representatives." - Of course not, free medical insurance and 4% raises are unheard of today...except for their union members. I'm sure if they opened their eyes they could find some "dead wood" that they could get rid of. I would start higher than "cafeteria staff". There are some excellent teachers in the school system, but at the same time there are some very unproductive members who know they can't be touched. Any parent with a child in the school system knows which "tenured" who needs to go. There needs to be some accountability!
When are they going to accept responsibility for the problem? Maybe (BEA) President Julia Placko should wake up and at least comment.
