Larizza Makes Bet at Rape Victim's Expense

My name is Shirley Dukhie. I am divorced, but my former husband is now in prison for the rest of his life along with his brother who was sentenced to thirty years in prison.

Aleem and Afeez Ali forcibly raped my daughter repeatedly. One of them was represented by a St Augustine lawyer named R.J. Larizza. Mr. Larizza tried to ruin my daughter's life.

They paid Mr. Larizza from money that belonged to our family, but when Mr. Larizza used up that money he then used taxpayer money to hire an investigator to attack the reputation of my daughter by trying to look through her high school records, medical records and anything else he could get his hands on.

He called my daughter's friends to ask them about my daughter's chastity. At trial he even told the jury that my daughter consented to having sex with her stepfather and uncle.

Thank God he lost.

The St Augustine prosecutor on the case later told me that he found out Mr. Larizza actually bet money on the outcome of the case.

He was mean and uncaring to my daughter and he will act the same way if he is elected. I am shocked that this man thinks he should be elected to anything. He does not deserve anyoneʼs vote.

Dear Ms. Dukhie,

I'm aware of you case and that you contacted the St. Augustine Record about your family's story. To say the least what happened to your daughter is shocking. I always wonder about attorneys that take what I call "dog cases" (a case you can not win). It does rate RJ Larizza's practice and caliber as a human being down there with the ambulance chasers (unethical lawyers).

My heart goes out to you and your daughter. Be very proud that you had the guts to stand up for what is right and put your story out there for all to see.

While whatever he did to support his family may have been laudible before these events, what happened that night is unforgiveable. To force yourself on the young girl who's care you are charged with is just plain depraved. He maimed her mentally and emotionally and left damning physical evidence in an extremely sensitive location. If you'd like people who know the WHOLE story to get into it his actions and those of his brother were just flat out unconscionable.
For the sake of argument, even if we assume valid, the allegation you make that the victim and the defendant's brother (her uncle in the family structure) were involved before in a consentual relationship. The events of the night in question are indefensible. Even if, in the worst case scenario for her, she used to have a consentual sexual relationship with him; that night, he crossed the line. There is no way that she consented to the type of sexual deviancy that these two brothers forced upon her.
If you truly believe in God, I sincerely hope that you find Him and He can guide your moral focus away from gold-digging allegations, and towards the real wrongdoing that happened here.
