I was very thrilled to bring my children to the parade this past weekend. What I was not thrilled about was almost breaking my ankle walking down the one way street(Walton St)A. I am sure I am not the only one to have stepped in the huge pot hole in the street. You know the one way with no lights, so it is even harder to avoid these craters in the road. So now we have navigated through the obstacle course that is the streets of Hoosick Falls and it is time to walk home from the park. This brings the next problem. You can't push a stroller down the sidewalks because they are so dilapidated. This leaves us parents to literally walk in the street with our stollers that have our kids in them. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. It is not the only time I have had to walk my child in the street. In the summer when you want to go to the pool,playground,or Ice Cream Cafe you have to walk the stroller in the street. What is it going to take to remedy this major safety issue? A child getting hit? This must be fixed and fixed sooner then later.

I hate to have go here, but could that money being spent on the new bridge have been used to fix our roads and sidewalks? I don't know but if it could have,it is a shame that I have to risk the safety of my children so we can have a bridge in the middle of no where. If the streets and sidewalks were not eligible for that money then can someone PLEASE find the funds to fix these major problems.
