"They were going off all over town and the local news was going to tell where the immediate danger was."
- If the siren is going off, you're in the immediate danger zone. That siren doesn't mean turn on your TV and listen to the weathermen, it means take shelter.

"Odd Suddenlink readily admits to this problem and there have been several news articles about it recently. But maybe the issue is you are replying to a year old post."
- Never happens to me. I don't know what your problem is. It very well could be that there are differences in the software the cable box runs, and mine is newer. Who really knows? The point is, you should not rely on TV to save your life.

"Not with major tornadic storms."
- Bullsh*t. Which one of the hundreds of pictures and video would you like me to show you depicting a very large tornado in broad daylight?

Hi! I am with Suddenlink. You might want to consider calling Customer Service and bundling your services for a better rate!

I did as you suggested about three years ago and paid more than double the amount that sattelite currently costs me.
I also called and cancelled my sons landline when I bought him a cell phone and for over a year, Suddenlink continued to bill me for the line, that was physically taken out of the wall. I called once a week every week for over a year and was shuffled around repeatedly, assured that the problem was solved and yet continued to receive billing for the dead line. I was told that I had to pay for it and that it would be recredited to my account the following month, which didn't happen until I physically went into the office in town and requested help. I was treated rudely by the staff and told I never cancelled the line, regardless of the fact that I had been recording the phone calls for some 7 months and had a bag of tapes to let them listen to which they refused to do and told me I could face criminal charges for recording them without their permission.
after a full year of back and forth hassle and numerous letters to other entities, Suddenlink refunded me less than one third of what I had spent paying bills on a dead line and then they threatened to sue me for repayment of the credit after I switched to dish and called them to cancel, offering to pay the final bill.
I hated every aspect of their service, the nonclarity of the billing system, the internet speed isn't as fast as some people would like to think either.
I pay far less with sattelite, have not had one weather related glitch, everything comes on one bill and I'm not being charged for services I don't use.
I would not return to suddenlink even if they were the only cable company/internet provider available.

"How can I tell on the internet if a tornado is a mile or two away or down the block?"
- You don't, tard. You'd use the internet to watch the radar and warnings. They have these new inventions called sirens. They go off when sh*t's about to hit the fan, and they require no TV in order to do so.
"There was a storm around Amarillo producing tornados I was watching the developments on the local station and suddenlink switched everyones tv to weather in New York and New Jersey, and you were unable to change the channel on the tv. The local weather at the time was getting ready to tell us exactly where the tornado was and I was switched."
- That's funny, not a month ago, when there were several reported tornados, my TV didn't switch to anything except a report from the national weather service, about the storms here. And I could, and did, change the channel. Perhaps you're just too stupid to change the channel? Gotta be smarter than the TV? I know that could be a problem for you.
"All I am going to see out the windows is black sky"
-... Unless it's daylight.
1: "- You don't, tard. You'd use the internet to watch the radar and warnings. They have these new inventions called sirens. They go off when sh*t's about to hit the fan, and they require no TV in order to do so."
**Try waiting for a siren when you have kids, scratch that toddlers and infants that you need to also be protecting. It's not as simple as dropping ourselves into a basement. Sirens can be late and have been late historically on more than enough occasions to make them a SECONDARY warning device. Complacency kills.
2: "-... Unless it's daylight."
**Hey Genius. over 78% of all thunder storms in this area happen in the evening and at night as the air temperature cools. So the "daylight" doesn't really apply to most storms. You seem to be a very obtuse and misguided individual.
3: "Perhaps you're just too stupid to change the channel? Gotta be smarter than the TV? I know that could be a problem for you."
**Have many friends do ya? The complainant is not the only person to experience that. If you're not bright enough to have noticed the similar comments from several contributors then you're probably enforcing this blunt and blatant disregard for personal respect on purpose to get a rise... If you're bored, go get some friends.

The complaint is legitimate. It is serious. Even 30 seconds is too long. So we can't afford to get our computer booted or even navigate the internet to get to some vague radar image missing the vital information we would've captured on the very channel we were watching and were about to receive before Suddenlink changed the life-changing channel on us for their political reasons.

Suddenlink... grow some. Fight for what is right. Not for what is easiest.

Pretty sure his comment referred to any tv in your home that may not be actually plugged into a literal cable box. Also you could try dish, but when it rains a little you lose service and that could mean the difference between knowing anything about your local weather.....

I been paying for Suddenlink Internet and TV in Amarillo, Texas for many years now. Suddenlink is the most unreliable service of any kink I have ever saw. Suddenlink TV and Internet is down right now....as usual. I'm switching to ATT internet for $19 a month. I'm on my neighboes ATT internet now. It's always there when I need it(when suddenlink is unreliable as always) In Texas.

I like Why.

I don't like suddenlink because their cable packages cost too much. I'm about to switch to dish. I can deal with a contract if it takes me from $103 a month to $40 a month.

Also, I've had service problems with them in the past. Funny how it takes seconds for them to draft hundreds of dollars from your bank account, yet it takes many weeks and almost a hundred phone calls to get it back. I got it back. I didn't even owe it in the first place. I didn't know AT&T offered Internet in my area!
