It is because of the 3rd world service you get when you go there. people would rather travel to another hospital than risk being killed by the people who work there. Greedy employees have taken the place down. soon wont have a job because of it.

Actually, I believe the problem is with the 2 arrogant guys they have running(ruining) the hospital. Changing the administration would change the hospital drastically

Medina hospital rated worst in country. Anyone who has ever gone there has had a bad experience, knows someone that had a bad experience at one time or another. Emergency room flunky doctors that cant get a job anywhere else. Worth the extra time to go to another hospital if you can do it. May save your life.

Please list your source for hospital rating. Please list sources for patients who have had bad experiences. Please list your source for ratings of doctors. I think you have been drinking the kool-aid. You just make things up and expect others to believe them. Final tought...if you were having a heart attack or stroke and you were a mile away from the Medina hospital you would instruct the EMTs to take you 20 miles away to Brockport or Lockport???

You're kidding, right?

(I am not associated with the hospital or the medical field in this area in any way, shape or form. I just don't like outrageous statements like the ones made by the original poster.)

Overall, the hospital doesn't seem to be too bad. There are bad experiences everywhere and are usually balanced by the good. This hospital is no exception.

Based on US News Health hospital surveys, MMH was found to be fairly average.

Otherwise - we could be going the way of Lakeside in Brockport, which is actually closing and will be reopening as an outpatient care center.

Not kidding...a D sure leaves room for improvement. Your link shows a survey of medicaid/medicare
patients. Do you know of any surveys involving all patients?

The truth is not far here in the fact that nurses turnover at a pace not common in City hospitals and the fact that night time contract incentive (which is pretty impressive) doesn't deter them from leaving. Doctors here are here bottom of the barrel because of the pay. Hell even the Doctor that heads up the group puts little to no time in out here anymore. The bottom line is that the CEO, CFO and V-P of Nursing administration has made one hell of a mess in this place and need to be replaced.

Personally, I think we are lucky to have a local hospital and local doctors. I hope the admin issues get cleared up because I, for one, would hate to lose the luxury of having a hometown hospital. People have good and bad experiences everywhere. I have lived in this town all my life, I was born at that hospital, my kids were born at that hospital and I always go there if I have that option. I know nothing of the upper crust and their mess.

I completely agree with "Really." I was so thankful that I had a hospital so close by when I went into early labor with my son at 4 in the morning. Yes, there are problems there, but what place in this world does not? I am sure that the negative people in this town will always find something to complain about. I just think that you should take the good with the bad and be grateful you have a hospital in town in case you ever need it.

I have been thankful for the local hospitals many times in the past. And agree that we really need to support the hospital and the staff to insure we have care close by. Always room for improvement and we need to be supportive of their efforts.

I am not sure where your information comes from, the turnover is almost zero. the ED Doctors are contracted out so if the pay is at the bottom of the barrel, contact their group

Personal friends that have departed. Now they have a CEO that is hacking the management positions that were in place and streamlining administrative demands on the heads of those who she feels are worthy of retaining. She still needs a nurse manager for the hospital as the one left over may get things done, but still has not a clue on the concept of RURAL COMMUNITY HOSPITAL needs!! Ask MacKenzie Sullivan if you know her...

Rn watcher is an idiot. And dropping names like Sullivan just proves where you get your misinformation. People who've been let go have been let go for reasons and they clearly aren't going to admit they are bad for the company. Folks shouldn't comment concerning areas they know zero about. It makes them appear foolish.
