Just read the paid advertisement placed in the Lake Plains Pennysaver. Lynn Carson brings up a few points about what is going on there in Ridgeway with regards to the current Superintendent. S ounds to me like sour grapes, because his son has been passed over for other hire's one being the current senior employee Tim Feldman. Another is a new hiree whom was second choice of Tim Feldman. So you must ask yourself, has Lynn Carson conversed with Mr. Feldman? Mark Goheen earned the position he was voted into by getting out and campaigning for the job. He has some experience that I am sure Ray Wendling doesn't have. And I am sure both Mark and Ray need to have Mr. Feldman's blessing, as he is the one whom is truly running the Highway department. What is sad is that the Republican Party isn't even unanimous in there endorsement. Mr. Fisher the current chairman and David Callard the puppeteer tried to smear Mark Goheen and not endorse him. It came down to a 1 vote difference to endorse. To date Mark has done nothing wrong but work with Mr. Feldman in getting things done. Ray Wendling is looking to increase his retirement by running for this position rather than work for it in Medina. He has had a track record of being injured on the job, a couple of cases are questionable at best. So take a good hard look at this and wonder if maybe staying with Mark Goheen is the better choice...

Mr. Fisher is not the chairman of the Republican Committee of the Town of Ridgeway, that would be Mr. Callard. It is true that Mr. Fisher lied about Mr. Goheen on more than one occasion. No one is sure what his motive was then or now. He did try to smear Goheen, did try to sway the vote to Wendling. Those are facts. He did not succeed with his lies and BS as the committee saw through them and gave the endorsement to Goheen. I am unaware of the count, only that Goheen is endorsed. I guess that shows how ineffective Fisher, who happens to be the vice-chair of the committee really is. Maybe he should just resign from the committee and just go away. He never really did anything anyway other than puff up his chest and bluster all his crap that he makes up. Come to think of it, just what does that committee do???? or Callard??? Got me on those.

Goheen has done a good job from what I have seen. I know the people of Knowlesville are most appreciative of what he did during the flooding issues. In my opinion he has earned that position and deserves to continue.

I don't live in Ridgeway, but I am aware of this situation and I completely agree with Lynn Carson. Mark's not a bad guy, but he doesn't have the back ground for the job. Mark basically gets paid a pretty penny to sit on his butt and hire someone else to do his job. Ridiculous for you to assume Ray's intentions for running. What is your basis for the accuation that he doesn't want to work for his pension? Ray is a solid, dependable, qualified candidate for the job who likely thinks he can do some good in the town he lives in.

By your post you live in Lyndonville, yet are aware of the Ridgeway "situation" (your word, not mine) and I notice that you also commented on the Albion breakins. Wow Mary, you certainly get around.

So Mark just sits on his butt and collects his check? Now why hasn't he been reprimanded by the Town Board if that is all that he has done in the past four years. And how would you know what he does all day long if you are so busy keeping up on other areas of the county. My guess to that is that someone who is not a Goheen fan has told you that and you accepted it as gospel never once checking out what he does or has done.

I am sure Mark has learned a great deal about his job and now has four years experience in it. I would think that his four years of doing the job gives him a background of the job. Ray hasn't had that experience, nor does he have supervisory or budgetary experience.

Mark and Ray are both nice guys. It's a shame that one of them will not get the republican line in the general election. In my opinion, Mark seems to be the best qualified and the one who should win the primary.

Ray is a nice guy, but he lacks the experience as a supervisor and as for budgeting the only people to budget there are the Superintendent's for Medina, and their board of trustee's. Mark has earned my vote next Tuesday, and I also saw Lynn Carson's letter. I have to agree that the coffee house rumor mill is sour grapes.

Nice add in the Penny Saver spelling out your credentials. You failed to explain Feldman though, he gives you your direction.

My wife just now stumbled upon this topic from a while back. This still bothers me knowing that i am more qualified then some employees are today for the position,I know the hiring process for that position was all about the good old boys network and i was not one of them as two of my friends where not ether.i was pretty sure i had the the job when i was told during my interview ( i will be calling you) but then later found out that position was already filled a week before i had an interview. Why the games? i had a class a cdl ohsa and msha training, and many other qualify cations that i never would of used if i did get hired for that position.Actually i am kind of glad i did not get the job.I work for a company that pours 25000 sq. ft.of concrete in one day and then does all over again the next day.Thats probably not enough qualifications but it is a honest paycheck,I dont want to write to much more and get a bad reputation because the town of timsway might still call i have about 10 apps. still on the bottom of his desk. Also i still have my light up ray signs ready to go for next election.
