i am a part of this religion and id like to correct the following line-We all believe in good works, good thoughts and good deeds. That is the main faith, and we are all sticking to that."
itz not good 'works'
itz good words
the whole phrase is 'good thoughts good words good deeds'

A good article.. and I am happy to be a Zorastrian, and proud of what our Prophet taught us ,which is thousands of years ahead
of His time.. He was really Enlightened, but never declared Himself as The SON of GOD.

I am an Iranian American living in California, and despite the fact that I am not a Zoroastrian, yet, I am glad that this ancient religion of Iran is flourishing again. I have had personal friendship with people of this faith, and I find the followers of the faith to be very nice people, based on their religion's goals of good thoughts, good words, and good deeds. I am sure in an open, and democratic society they will grow even more. I already know that many Iranians already think about going back to their Persian roots, because of seeing what an Islamic regime has done to them, and Zoroastrians is an essential part of their Persian heritage.

Interesting article. Are Zoroastrians generally tolerant of other people or are they just another group of fascists masquerading as a religious faith?

So far as I know Zoroastrians do not proselytize and haven't enforced any beliefs politically in the last fourteen centuries or more. Even before then they gave Jews, etc religious toleration.

To me this is the key quote in the article:
"The essence of the religion has remained the same in both cases," he said. "We all believe in good works, good thoughts and good deeds. That is the main faith, and we are all sticking to that." If we can all focus on the good parts of religion and simply try to help one another, the world will be a better place.

As a student of religion, I find the Zoroastrian religion to be fascinating. I believe the religion may be older than the article says. It was the FIRST religion to worship THE ONE GOD! I found references that it was the Zoroasters who taught the Jews to worship The One God. Those 3 WISE MEN (Magi) that visited the new born Jesus were supposed to be Zorasters.

Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds - AND another part of their philosophy is "To leave the world a little better place than when you came in to it!"

The Prophet "Zarathustra" may have lived as early as 1500 BC. His was definitely a message of peace and a religion of peace. He also declared that slavery was an abomination and was outlawed. It is a shame that Islam the SUPPOSED religion of peace, which thrived on SLAVERY, did so much to wipe out the Zoroasters which was truly "The Religion Of Peace". I know a few Iranian Zoroasters here in Sweden. Very good people! Also note it is a NON-PROSELYTIZING religion.

I like Zoroastrianism because it is different than Abrahamic religions and fits me the best. There almost nothing to disagree with Zarathustrianism.

Hope that Iranians will turn back to their roots and accept Zoroastrianism as their religion.
